The U.S. Coast Guard was looking for the submarine Monday morning after it disappeared during the expedition from St. John's, N.L. The infamous 1912 wreck is located more than 600 kilometres southeast of the province in the North Atlantic Ocean.
The trip to the Titanic was being run by OceanGate Expeditions, a U.S.-based company. It uses a five-person submersible named Titan to reach the wreckage 3,800 metres below the surface. OceanGate's website advertises a seven-night voyage to the Titanic for US$250,000 per person, or approximately CA$330,000.
"We are exploring and mobilizing all options to bring the crew back safely," an OceanGate spokesperson said in an email to CTV News. "Our entire focus is on the crewmembers in the submersible and their families."

Those tours are a series of five eight-day missions to the Titanic with the money raised by tourists going towards Titanic research. Posts on social media show the ship launched from the St. John's area last week.

Did they really have 5 people in this?? Or do they have a larger version??

I've given this some thought and the forementioned thought has allowed me to to come to a final and decisive conclusion:

Submarines suck.

Let's take a parallel example of viewing the Titanic and say you want to experience Salma Hayek's breasts circa 1995 as opposed to the rusting, lifeless, rotting corpse, deteriorating at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. The caveat being you couldn't touch, smell, or feel the tenderness, firmness, structure

(ok, I'm back)

of either but only experience them as a 2 dimensional picturesque view thru a viewing window then what are the risk/reward you are willing to tolerate in order to view them up close in a voluntary coffin where something as simple as a gastrointestinal mishap can spoil the trip for all of the crew with no option to exit and politely leave the unpleasantness.

All the while your could have done an internet search for images in the comfort of your abode or even floated above the Titanic with a wireless controller navigating a drone while getting a tan, sipping a boat drink, all while scantly clothed and Salma Hayek's boobs a simple internet browser away.

You would no doubt have probably about 150k to boot.

On this reflection of priorities I can firmly say that submarines are off my bucket list. To you, I bid good day Mr. Sub!

This is what I don't get, what is it about being in a sub looking through a glass window at something vs looking at it through a monitor that would make it worth the risk involved?

Yeah. Glue. And by what I've read, not quality tested, either, to see if the damn thing could hold up.

This guy was very much the corner-cutting cheap ass, lying CEO.

This is the most in depth and horrible thing I've read about Stockton Rush and his shitty sub.
