The Browns record last year is slightly inflated by playing the Bengals twice and the terrible NFC East who had zero teams finish with a winning record. They also could not overcome a Henne led Chiefs in the second half of their playoff loss. This team is more hype than substance at this point and Clowney (the Sammy Watkins of defense) won't be what propels them over a team like KC.

11 wins and a negative point differential is pretty hard to do. Certainly implies some fortunate wins.

When they can’t run the ball, and our defense forces them to pass, it’s all over. Just like Henry/Tannehill, just like Lamar, just like Brees last year. Cannot fucking wait til Sunday. Yeastinfecteddong, what’s your email so we can follow Up when the Clowns get smoked.

Pederson and Nagy are the recent guys to benefit and Pederson kind of had his run and philly immediately became a dumpster fire after. While the Andy Reid tree does have some hardware, it also has some reason for pause.

It does, but pretty much the entire Belichick is a dumpster fire. Reids tree has produced batter results to include two coaches who won SBs (Pederson and Harbaugh).

At some point, it's human nature.

At some point, it's human nature to start thinking about yourself, or about your contract, or just plain getting mentally tired. It's a BIG part of what the super bowl hangover phenomenon is all about. It's INCREDIBLY difficult to maintain the level of focus and determination and personal sacrifice year in and year out.

I think you're underestimating just how difficult a task it is.

It's not just about superior physical talent level.
I'd submit no team had the talent edge in the salary cap era that the 90s Cowboys had. They got a ton of picks in a highway robbery trade, and hit on nearly every one. And they even carried that advantage over to give Barry effing Switzer a ring. But time and comfort and fate got to them as well.

Better be prepared to score alot Sunday.

Frank Clark nursing a hammy, no Willie Gay and Mathieu still on Covid list.

You don't think missing those three, or having 2 of 3 and one on a bum wheel hurts the defense against a good offnese?

Think we can’t score enough to overcome that?

as much talk of the Offense for the browns its a miracle they won as many games as they did with the defense they had.

they gave up 30+ points 7 times in the regular season (chiefs 3 times)

they held the other team 17 or less 4 times 2 of those had 50 mph winds that no one could throw the ball 1 game it rained the entire time so only 1 the giants game was not weather impacted. (Chiefs 6 times).

if the browns D improves and it should dramatically the point diff will be much better.

Mathieu potentially being out is the only one that would truly hurt.

The team is used to not playing with the new and improved version of Willie Gay.

Frank Clark out is addition by subtraction as far as I'm concerned. And no, he's not any better at this "set the edge!!!!" bullcrap than Danna or old constantly injured Okafor.
