At some point, it's human nature to start thinking about yourself, or about your contract, or just plain getting mentally tired. It's a BIG part of what the super bowl hangover phenomenon is all about. It's INCREDIBLY difficult to maintain the level of focus and determination and personal sacrifice year in and year out.
I think you're underestimating just how difficult a task it is.
It's not just about superior physical talent level.
I'd submit no team had the talent edge in the salary cap era that the 90s Cowboys had. They got a ton of picks in a highway robbery trade, and hit on nearly every one. as much talk of the Offense for the browns its a miracle they won as many games as they did with the defense they had.
they gave up 30+ points 7 times in the regular season (chiefs 3 times)
they held the other team 17 or less 4 times 2 of those had 50 mph winds that no one could throw the ball 1 game it rained the entire time so only 1 the giants game was not weather impacted. (Chiefs 6 times).
if the browns D improves and it should dramatically the point diff will be much better. [Reply]
