There’s a reason TJ got fired from 810, which is embarrassing enough. 810 actually did something great by giving that spot to Cody Tapp, who is really solid on radio.

Lots of speculation on the Tech forums that the coaches shot him up with some kind of pain drugs in the first half and they wore off in the second half. He was a completely different guy. He looked like the typical Pat Mahomes in the first half and then couldn't even get any zip on 10-15 yard throws in the 2nd half. Funny thing is you look at the stats for that game, you would not know he was playing injured. 500+ yards, over 72% completions. We scored 28 points in the first half and only 10 points in the 2nd half, which goes to show what I said about how he played each half. He was the usual incredible Pat in the first half. Wanna say he was over 80% completions in the first half. Comes out second half and our worst fears were confirmed. No zip on the ball. Dead arm.
I will say this though. Pat did not play many games in 2015 and 2016 healthy. In 2015 he suffered a bad knee injury against TCU early in the season (Game 4) and was a different guy the rest of the year. In 2016 he suffered a bad throwing shoulder injury in Game 4 against Kansas (week before K-State game) and was a different guy the rest of the year.
This is my biggest concern for him. He has insane talent, but he plays the game very hard and takes a lot of big hits. He has to protect himself if he wants to succeed in the NFL. If you don't stay healthy then all that talent goes to waste. [Reply]
