Not enough time

From my understanding, per multiple sources, Rashee Rice's rehab, following his surgery today to repair his right LCL, is expected to be 4 months.

If he can't play until next September, I'd wager there's a pretty good chance he attempts to make a deal shortly.
He’s gone with the injury for at least 10-12 games. The only good thing if the suspension happens in the beginning of 2025 season, it gives him extra recovery time without taking big hits in games.

And even if he is able to make a miraculous return by the playoffs… he won’t be close to 100%, will not be in game shape, etc.

Trade for a WR.

Trade for a WR.

Trade for a WR.

They're gonna test that knee out on the practice field the day after the AFCCG.

So after a great rookie season he misses majority of his second year and could potentially miss the majority of third year through suspension. That fourth year will be interesting

Terrell Owens made some miraculous comeback before the Super Bowl. I just don't know that KC would risk his future, especially if the team is able to keep winning without him.

Time to suspend him for his speeding.

The idea of a player returning in the postseason after a long injury layoff… hasn’t been successful.

Eric Berry Exhibit A.

Terrell Owens and Ray Lewis say hi.

Broken leg recovery not comparable to a torn ligament and tendon repair.

Lewis was the day before the SB and a torn tricep. Again, not remotely the same.
