With RB Isiah Pacheco expected to be sideliend 6-8 weeks, the Chiefs are bringing their former RB Kareem Hunt back to Kansas City for a Tuesday visit, per league sources. Hunt could help fill the Chiefs’ running back void. pic.twitter.com/nDzNGlrcuH

Unfortunately I think that horse may have already left the barn. We've been watching Hunt getting beat to shit in real time. They need to drastically reduce his workload and let the poor guy get some rest, especially considering we're already past our bye this year. [Reply]

I sometimes wonder if they are going to ride him hard until Pacheco gets back...I would like to see a healthy backfield of Pacheco, Hunt and Perine at the end of the year.
Wear out the defensive line all game in the playoffs. [Reply]
If they aren't going to get Perine more involved in the rushing game then CEH needs to buck up and tag in for a few games, at least until Pacheco is back. [Reply]
This chart is hilarious. Kareem ain't gonna get you negative yds, but he sure as shit isn't gonna break a big one.
He's the living embodiment of my hypothetical "how valuable is a guy that only ever gets you 1 yard, nothing more and nothing less, on every single carry" question.
I've always said that guy should be a 1st round pick because 2nd and 3 is a 1st down every time. Or 1st and goal from inside the 5 is a TD.
I poo poo the running game almost every chance I get but have always believed that short yardage running is HUGELY valuable. And man oh man does he do that well.
And credit is due to the OL as well. That interior is getting good push that allows him to take that little beat before hitting the seam. If that's not there for him, he gets swallowed up in the backfield when he tries to set up a block. [Reply]

I think the offense is going to revert back to a passing attack.
Andy had no choice but to run it as much as we were and it was the right decision.
We have all seen the wide open WRs against the Raiders. Andy is going back to the offense he wants to run. This should give Kareem a bit of a break and lower his touches. [Reply]
I was going to come in here to say Kareem will never survive until Pacheco gets back. It has dropped to just over 20 carries, but that’s still too much.
But then I noticed that Perine didn’t get any carries on Sunday? That he only has 13 carries on the season?
I mean, what are we doing? You mean to tell me that we can’t find 5-6 carries/GM for Perine? 3-4 for Steele? [Reply]

Only two carries for Steele? If you want to pound the defense, this makes no sense. Especially when Kareem is gassed. [Reply]

We're running like it's 1990. 29 carries on Sunday. Which I don't necessarily have a problem with, but we're also running Hunt like he's a 1990 alpha back, which he isn't at this point. I was looking forward to seeing hunt and Pacheco trading off when Isaiah comes back, but at this rate I'm not sure hunt won't be on IR by then. [Reply]

Goalline and short yardage weapon. Something this team has sorely needed the last 3 seasons since we don't do QB sneaks and we run 3rd and 4th and short under shotgun which in itself leads to more potential of negative rushing attempts.
I was a bit worried in the last game though because he looked a little worn down. Noticeably slower. Pacheco coming back to lessen the load will help alot. [Reply]
