Heh, I had cold bolgna today. But it was far from a 'basic' sammich.
First off
This was on fresh 'country white' homemade bread
Hellman's Mayo
Field Greens
Vidalia
Habanero Jack cheese, sliced thick
Devil's Spit pickle slices [Reply]

I dont like Nathans dogs but I think it is like all packaged dogs full of the stuff to preserve it. It just has a funny aftertaste I notice right off. I seen the Nathans Bolo but didnt bite for that reason. I like Fricks or Borshead used to get fanestil but cannot find anymore. [Reply]

Tasty is a tough word, because it's so mild. It's substantial. It's meaty. But it's not spiced or garlicy or anything.
But if you like the texture and substantialness of a good all-beef bologna, it's a good choice. I chose it specifically because I wanted the texture to go with the flavor coming from the spicy jack cheese and pickles.
And it's real good with real mayo.
If I had to assign a 'taste' it would be . . . meaty. Mild like a weisswurst or a braunschweiger. [Reply]

Nathans stuff is way too salty for my liking. Fritz"s is great when I can get it. [Reply]
