Crockpot of ham and beans doing it's thing right now. Should be tasty as always. Something that's good about once a year but never think much of it past that.

Ma is doing the ham & beans thing tomorrow, she says its supposed to be good luck to start the new year with that... first I've ever heard of it [Reply]
Did a quick carbonara for lunch. We’re probably doing a chuck roast for dinner, with some country style green beans cooked with some leftover ham. [Reply]

That's the way to do it. I miss being able to cook things spicy, but everything gets a coating of hot sauce. I make a stout cornbread but I'd prefer yours. [Reply]

Yeah, that's what I've heard and what I usually do. We'll be doing our fourth and final Christmas tomorrow, so I had to get my fix in today! Perfect day for it, cold and miserable outside. [Reply]

That it is.
The old KCMO 9 weatherman Fred Broski always did New Years eve in KC for KCMO. He always had a pot of black eyed peas at the strike of midnight. [Reply]
Just finished cooking a pot of vegetable beef soup for some warm comfort food the next few days. KC strip steaks for dinner and some jalapeno poppers for later on. [Reply]
