Well, the ceiling is certainly there for Mitchell. He’s a legit back when healthy, he’s just never on the field. Johnson would have been nice as a role player like McKinnon, but if they see Mitchell as true every down back, that could be interesting. I don’t mind taking a flier on that. [Reply]

If teams back off and play shell you need a running back to get those 5-8 yard runs inside.

I very much appreciate all that Pacheco accomplished his rookie year, but the team needs a serious upgrade at the position. He has no vision whatsoever, and now may have lost the speed that helped offset that deficiency. My understanding is he still has the steel plate and screws in and may never have the athleticism which was by far his best trait.
We need one of these half dozen rookie running backs everyone is so excited about. Because Pacheco and Mitchell do not inspire confidence for a twenty game run. Is it possible to get a speedy difference-maker at RB with one of one of our third round picks, or is the thought they will be snapped up in the first two rounds? [Reply]

If Pop is our starting RB this season, I’m going to be very disappointed. I’m by no means saying Mitchell is our starter (I think he’s a good depth piece). I’m saying Pop just doesn’t bring enough to this Offense to keep the opposing D on their toes. I’m hopeful we can draft Pop’s replacement as the starting RB. [Reply]
