So due to a potential work conflict, I didn't think I would get to go to the SB this year. Now thanks to a continuance, I don't need to be in court.
Started to look for a place to stay in NOLA and whooooollyyy sheeet. I mean, I expected expensive but this is bend ya ass ova and beg for forgiveness shit.
I woke up Monday morning and decided to take my wife. Called a buddy and he and his wife will join us. Then I decided to take my two adult kids and my son-in-law. We're flying into Mobile and driving to and from on Sunday.
My kids will head home Monday while my wife and I, along with the other couple are headed to Atlanta to meet up with yet another couple to go to Puerto Rico for a week. If the Chiefs win I win $17,500 Sunday, enough to cover a little over 1/3 of the Super Bowl costs for five people. [Reply]

I mean I get you can make a weekend out of it, but I can go and have been to New Orleans or Vegas or Phoenix (used to live there) or Miami many a weekend, but I can't pull the trigger on a minimum $50K (there is zero chance I could without and I wouldn't want to go without the B&C and my two sons) for one football game. I mean my Penthouse Suite season tickets and playoff games aren't that much. I can renew those for 4 plus take one hell of a trip to Vegas or any of those other cities for the amount of a SB trip. Again, totally get it for people who do pull the trigger. I am sure you have and will make us all proud. For me and mine, we will continue to attend the Arrowhead Invitational and then throw one hell of a Super Bowl party the two weeks after! It has worked out damn well so far!
It all depends on your budget though. To some people dropping money like that is not a big deal and won't hurt them financially. to others it doesn't make much sense. You just have to figure out your budget and make a smart decision.
I think it's worth it if you can afford it. It's got to be a hell of an experience if the Chiefs won and you are there live. [Reply]

Welcome to Mobile! If you eat one thing in town here, make sure it’s a burger at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club. One of the best burgers anywhere. [Reply]

Fuck’em. I’ll be yelling loud enough for 10 Chiefs fans. [Reply]

Thank you! I called and tried to make reservations there tonight but they said they don't take reservations. We might still try. Somebody else in the group wants to try Wintzell's. [Reply]

Wintzell’s is excellent too. The one downtown on Dauphin is the original.
If y’all want a nightcap, there are several great bars downtown. Haberdasher has great cocktails and a huge craft beer selection. Las Floriditas is a downstairs Cuban-style speakeasy. And Dauphine’s in the RSA building has the best views in the city. [Reply]
