Because of the past, I'm not at all sweating this season. Context matters.
I no longer get worked up about the regular season. Not since the 2nd Lombardi. The past has a direct influence on how I feel about THIS SEASON. In fact, it will affect every season for the rest of my life. My "fandom" has been satiated. I've moved on to dessert. [Reply]

I'm simply not frustrated at all. I want the 3-peat badly but beyond that, I don't care. They've won 3 Super Bowls. That's 3 more than I ever expected. Nothing they do from here on out will affect me negatively.
Exactly this.
If they don't pull of the threepeat? I mean, would have been cool to see but so has the last 6 years.
If the Bills are in fact the brick wall that comes to Arrowhead and ends the season, I hope those in attendance give the Chiefs a proper send off.
They've played an entire season worth of playoff games, early bye, have been crushed by injuries, haven't been close to efficient on offense and STILL are 13-1 and in the driver's seat for HFA.
You can make a choice to be frustrated or you can look around and realize what is happening is fucking amazing. [Reply]

Yeah, I suppose some of it is how literal you take the poll question... if you ignore all other context, history, etc and let's pretend 15 years ago you received a box set of these games to watch in a long weekend not knowing they had won 3 SBs or anything else about Mahomes, etc, and just know the current record of each team.... yeah, I'd probably not vote blissful.... it might fall between pretty happy and maybe even somewhat happy given the quality of the games and nothing else.
Some games have been fun, especially earlier in the season, even if they don't play near perfect/ideal football... a few games have obviously been a grind.
However, knowing these games don't really matter and regardless of past outcomes, I'll stick with blissful even if we'd obviously prefer watching 2018 Mahomes and 2023's defense every week. [Reply]

Yep. Love him or hate him, Nick Wright is right.
KC regular seasons have become practice for the real thing - the playoffs. [Reply]

To put it another way, do you think Bills fans would be excited about facing the Chiefs in the postseason? Hell no.
I like our chances.
It's wild how the same people draw the same false conclusions every single season and never seem to learn from them. [Reply]

Of course. But the question wasn't about how you felt about the Mahomes era overall.
It's like you being asked how you liked your dinner and you start talking about how great your breakfast was. You're avoiding what the question is asked because it would reveal what your real feelings are.
I'm pretty sure everybody is exceptionally happy about going to 6 straight AFCCGs and winning 3 Superbowls. But that's not the question being asked in the thread. [Reply]

I don't see how you're not getting this.
The poll is how we feel about this season. And as I've said multiple times, I don't have any negative feelings about this season at all.
You can't just erase the past and answer the question with zero context. We don't live in a time pocket where this season exists all by itself. [Reply]
We should ask a Bills fan what they think about this season. I guarantee you they will at least mention their playoff history against the Chiefs, even with as good as they look right now. You can't ignore the past and analyze one season in a vacuum. It doesn't work that way. [Reply]

I think a better comparison would be someone asking you how you like the dessert of an 11-course meal at a Michelin Star restaurant. (The wife and I did this as a bucket-list outing a couple of weekends back. Mind blowing.)
By the time you get to that point, you're just so thrilled with the meal that even a mediocre dessert would seem fantastic. (But who knew that black truffle on ice cream would taste good?) [Reply]
