To our best knowledge (basically, Bwana), Skip Towne passed away on March 24, 2023. I didn't exactly have the most positive run-ins with him, but everyone who was anyone on here in the beginning deserves a thread in the In Memoriam forum.
I say we share our best (or worst) encounters with Skip, and then, only once this thread reached 100 posts, move it. :-) [Reply]

He was still here when I joined in 06, got a little of the n00b treatment from him myself... RIP Skip, he was a much more accomplished guy than I might've guessed [Reply]

This was it, Skip got all butthurt over it. I don't know all the details, just the 1 sided heclaimed to me.
Ya know, it's funny. Most of my memories of Skip revolve around "mostly" friendly banter. However, there were times, and that being one of them, where the guy just didn't give a shit about boundaries. [Reply]
Damn. I was good friends with him and Milkman (I posted what his wife sent me after his passing) from the get go on here…both were known for telling it like it is and hazing n00bs. Sucks, but time waits for nobody, even n00bs. I’m sad to hear this. He even helped me get a contract with directv back in the day that made me a ton of $$$.
Dude was good people if you were able to get past the hard shell.

He was extremely opinionated with a LARGE dose of bias mixed in. [Reply]
I remember agreeing with his "Astro's aren't minivans" stance. Put me in good standing with him. Also he was right, Astro's were built on light truck chassis and were rear-wheel drive.
