Butter fingers MVS has fittingly just signed a deal to join a team in Buffalo named after Bill Buckner.

See ya.

He’s kinda like Sammy Watkins 2.0

I get what he was trying to say. I think it just came out wrong.

He's a decent role player. Yes he has helped Mahomes and Rodgers and he should defend himself in that regard. But the way he may this sound (he 'elevated their games') it's almost like he is saying he made them look better than they actually are.

He's lucky he got to play with such great QBs. Not many WRs in the NFL get the opportunities he has had and he should keep that in mind w his comments.

I'm definitely glad to see him keep earning solid enough paychecks

Yes the inconsistency is maddening, he'll have 2-3 egregious pull your hair out fails in row... then basically even it all out with one grab that you just HAVE to have

He doesn't owe me anything

Exactly! He was there when the Chiefs needed him most. He can say/tweet/talk all he wants and it’s all good.

He was dog shit during the regular season but stepped up in both SB playoff runs.

What's next? He's going to make a block and then claim he helped Allen be a good running QB?
He was a top 3 receiver in all three of his QB’s MVP seasons. In our 2022 Super Bowl run, his AFCCG performance was one of the best postseason games a Chiefs WR has ever had. In our 2023 Super Bowl run, he had the game-sealing catch in the AFCCG and a go-ahead TD in the SB.

That’s enough for me to be OK with him saying he helped his QBs and made some big plays. He was a major contributor, no?

I think we can all agree that he overstepped when he said he helped them elevate their game, put up big numbers, etc.

I feel like he practiced hard, made 3 nice catches, and 2 clutch catches in the playoffs, but was trash both years, with the last being the worse of the two.

Some athletes are able to view things objectively, and be real about their skills, or roles, etc. Some players know that Special Teams is the only way they make the team, and they can admit it.

This statement by MVS makes me believe that he isn't one of the players who can be honest about their skills, and it makes me believe that he maybe he isn't good at catching because he doesn't actually know or understand football beyond his limited route tree.

NO, he didn't help Rodgers win anything. He didn't elevate Rodgers of Mahomes. He didn't even elevate Chad Henne.

He was part of teams that had 2 of the best QBs that have ever lived, and neither future HOF QB gave a F when he left.

His catches in the playoffs elevate him slightly above JAG, but that's really what he is.

I have said this a lot, but he is the smallest "big" WR ever. He is listed at 6'4" and plays like he is as short like Tyreek, except Tyreek can actually Moss people with his vert, and MVS seems to get smaller in those situations.

I am very happy he caught that ball in the Bills game, and that he caught the clinching pass against Baltimore, because he did contribute, although it's possible the outcome is the same regardless, but he is one of the players that never really felt like a Kansas City Chief to me.

This, IMO, is a very solid take.

Much like Frank Clark, I have nothing but love for MVS. Nobody made us pay him $10 million a year and put him in a role that was probably too big for him. The player he was here was the exact player he was in Green Bay, it wasn’t any big secret what to expect out of him.

Wish him luck, except when he plays us at which time he is dead to me for 3 hours. Other than that, no beef.

Sure. But anyone that was on the team can say that. This dude averages 500-600 yards a season and he's literally had the two most talented passers of all time throwing to him.

It's like Jeff Allen bragging about how he helped Jamaal Charles be one of the best runningbacks of the 2000s. Like yeah, you were there and contributed, but it shouldn't be something you brag about helping.

They're just the guys in the group project who put in little to no work but want to talk about how they helped get the project an A. Like dude, I'm sure Rodgers and Mahomes would have had zero problems getting mvps without you.
