He told the media basically that Veach fucked up cutting Lammons cause he was in the game plan. Basically complaining to the media about it..while having a god awful year. [Reply]

Was Kemp not already playing on STs? If that's the case then yeah, we'll probably be fine with him sliding in to Lammons' role. [Reply]
I watched the clip, and I don't think Mecca's interpretation of Toub's remarks are correct at all. It was more like that "things just didn't turn out like Veach like hoped" and it was not in a snarky way at all.
A couple other points: Not sure if it has been pointed out, but Toub indicates plan was to kick it out of the end zone against Jax and it just didn't happen.
Also, Lammons is probably not happy with the Bengals at all. Most likely they just denied him the opportunity to play in the AFCCG and SB. Doubt he's going to be in the mood to spill the beans so to speak, even if he had some relevant info.
If given the opportunity, I think the Chiefs would very much like to run up the score on Bengals. [Reply]

Take away the Moore fumble and there is a very good chance KC wins, regardless of the Jones penalty. [Reply]

Nah I read it on twitter so it's on me for not actually seeking out the video clip. [Reply]

Having CEH or Fortson on the field for 8 total snaps is probably not more valuable than Lammons at this point, for this particular game. Not trying to make it a bigger deal than it is, but the unit was already struggling. Cutting it's best player seems like a bad plan. We'll see, hopefully we don't see any issues.
I actually don’t agree when it comes to fortson. They need him more than ever if mahomes won’t be as mobile. At this point tommy needs to kick it high and butkers gotta blast his kickoffs out of the end zone. [Reply]

I haven’t paid much attention to him but I think he’s been on our ps for a while. Way easier to keep lammons on the active roster because good chance he gets DB reps too. Kemp is purely a special teams guy. But when it comes purely to special teams I like kemp better than lammons so maybe this is a good thing. Says the optimstic homer in me [Reply]
Maybe KC would've won vs. IND if the Chiefs had scored more than 17 points? Maybe more than a FG in the 2nd half? You know, the unit that had 60 snaps to score pointws vs. the unit that was on the field for 10 snaps . . . [Reply]

I still stand by that if Dave Toub needs 5-8 guys who are core special teamers that really don't provide much else, he's not a very good coach. [Reply]
“It happens,” Toub explained. “[General Manager Brett] Veach had a plan. He had a plan. He always has a plan, he’s a smart guy. [It] just didn’t work out, I guess, unfortunately for [Chris] Lammons because now he’s not going to be able to play. So, it’s just the way it goes. Obviously, he was a good player for us. And for three years, [he] did a lot for us and I want to thank him for that. I’m going to miss him, no question. But the future is still good for him.”
