Super impressed by Thorpe, though. He’s a nice build for the Sox to build around (or trade off early for some dumb reason like they’re talking about with Crochet).
They also have Noah Schultz (arguably best pitching prospect in baseball) and Hagan Smith. [Reply]
Love sweeping the White Sox. I’ll never feel sorry for those south side jagoffs. That said, the White Sox are absolutely awful, and I must admit, anything less than a sweep at home would’ve been a little disappointing.
This next series against the DBacks could be wild. Those fuckers can hit. A lot. They also play great defense. They just can’t pitch for shit. They’re firmly in the shitshow that is the NL wildcard race, and they went to the WS last year. Don’t think it’s gonna be easy, but we’ve gotta take at least two outta three and keep our foot on the gas to position ourselves for a playoff birth.
Should be an interesting week for baseball as we’re only 9 days away from the trade deadline. I’d expect some moves this week as several teams finally throw in the towel and begin dealing. [Reply]

If the Orioles wanted to offer Coby Mayo and, say, Heston Kjerstad for him, OK. But I'm not sure they would...
Maybe if the price gets too steep for Skubal, the O's will go back to the White Sox for Crochet.
On Tarik Skubal, consider the following:
I’m told the Tigers have had a scout watching the Orioles’ Triple-A Norfolk affiliate in recent days.
Jackson Holliday, Coby Mayo, Connor Norby, and Kyle Stowers are on the Norfolk roster. @MLBNetwork@MLBPipeline
