Looked at world series stats, if we win tonight then the MVP is probably still up in the air, depending on what happens. Right now, most likely potential MVP candidates:
Gordon (Game 1 HR off Familia, 4/14, 4 BB)
Salvy (7/17, 2 2B)
Cueto (Game 2 CG Win)
Davis (Game 4 2-inning save)
Volquez (Depending on tonight) [Reply]
Just to refresh everyone's memory on what some experts thought:
Closer: Not enough is being written or said about what a fantastic job Jeurys Familia has done since taking over for the twice-suspended Jenrry Mejia. He saved a franchise-record-tying 43 games in the regular season and has been nails in October, pitching 9 2/3 scoreless innings and going 5-for-5 in save situations. But Wade Davis, with a 0.90 ERA going back to the beginning of 2014 (postseason included) is the best reliever in the sport, as evidenced again by his ability to retire possible MVP Josh Donaldson for the final out of Game 6.

Volquez can win it with a gem tonight in his father's honor. [Reply]
With seven strong innings or more from Volquez he would probably win MVP unless Gordon or Salvy has a big night. I am thinking Wade finishes the victory for us but I suspect by then the game is out of hand and we are just waiting to celebrate. [Reply]

His number's aren't huge but in all 3 of the Royals wins so far, the winning or tying runs have scored from a Hosmer at-bat. [Reply]

I know Hosmer made a couple mistakes but make no mistake he should be on that list for MVP consideration he has made some clutch hits and plays. He is also a Sexymanbeast. [Reply]
I have to miss large portions of this game tonight unfortunately. Couldn't get out of it. It sucks, but I'll keep updated as much as possible, and hopefully I'm done before the end of the 9th in case the Royals win.
The energy I'm getting from this forum and people today is just outrageous. People are really feeling that this is the night we're going to do it. I think this game has us in the best position to win compared to the two previous New York games.
I'm not worried at all if we don't do it tonight, and I'd KIND of like to see us do the whole thing and finish shit off in real time, but I just want the W period.
