Very few games in the NFL are cake walks but people are way overrating Baker. He’s turned into an above average NFL QB. Good for him. He’s also gonna be arguably the 2nd worst QB we’ve played all year. I’m not gonna beat the drum for Carr or Purdy but I wouldn’t think someone crazy if they took either of them over Baker. At worst we’ve played 4 QB’s unquestionably better than Baker (Cousins is absolutely better and if you think it’s close, your tie breaker can be Cousins has outscored him twice head to head this season), 2 that are at least peers and the 1 (Minshew) that sucks. So the Chiefs go into the game with unquestionably the better:

QB
Coach
Defense
WR
TE
Special Teams

And we’re supposed to be afraid of Baker?

Oh and our next two games are vs the Bucs and Broncos.

Baker doesn't play defense. Bowles' defense gave up 860 yds and 8 TDs to Cousins, not Baker. And if you think after watching Carr/Purdy/Baker play this season that Baker is the worst of the three, I'm sorry, but you don't know what you're looking at. He's head and shoulders better than those two, statistically and on tape.

But if Baker doesn't scare you, then be wary of Liam Coen. He's the OC, and he's pretty good. He's going to have a good gameplan, and it won't just be about scheme, though his schemes are very good. He's a "players over plays" guy, so he's going to attack our weakest links on defense.

So, whoever plays opposite Trent is going to have their hands full, whether that's Nazeeah or Williams or whoever. Ditto Bolton in coverage. And Justin Reid is going to potentially have a long day in coverage as well. Every defender that struggles in coverage is going to be targeted.

Dhop has opened the door for Kelce to get some breathing room again. We'll put 30 on the Bucs Monday night.

Should be closer to 40. Kind of reviewed TBs defensive performances the last 3 games; they aren’t stopping the run and they can’t cover anyone at any level. They are playing like they have never seen a screen play. They can’t get set before the snap. Blowing assignments. Can’t cover a TE. Can’t tackle.

And then Bowles is outsmarting himself. Just the latest example, on ATL’s QB sneak Sunday, he was so sure that they weren’t going to run it, he called something where neither the C or the LG had anyone over them. He gave them the sneak.

He’s coaching like he wants to get fired.

I know odds are slim but I'd love Kingsley to get the start Monday.

Games against Tampa, Denver, and Buffalo to me represent as good a chance as you can have to catch a groove. There isn't a dominant edge in that trio of teams.

Agreed. Make the switch sooner than later.

We’ll get a couple blue chip edge tests in the last month against TJ Watt and Myles Garrett. That will be a great temperature check right before the games really start to matter.

Definitely. We are now the #1 team in football at 3rd down. Same as it ever was.

Cocky. 2024 Baker's got better QB numbers than Burrow, Cousins, Jackson, Herbert, Carr, and Purdy. And it's not like 2024 is some anomaly. He put up decent numbers with the sorry ass Browns sans the one year Baker was ravaged by injuries...And his whole game is predicated on tight-ends. The Chiefs getting their dicks kicked in by tight ends is a reoccurring theme in 2024.

So I wouldn't just assume this is like playing the bronco's or raiders. Numbers wise this is the toughest team they've faced all year. Their passing defense is something like ten spots higher than the Ravens.

They aren't getting their dicks kicked in. We're shutting down WR1s and forcing them to look for other options, and that makes it "by design". This past week when we faced a team whose best TE is also their best overall receiver, we shut him down compared to the rest of his season.

There ain't any weed in the world potent enough to be responsible for his takes.
That's some hard drugs or special needs going on there.

As a die-hard Buc fan....unless KC completely folds, or by some chance TB finds a defense...this game won't be too close. Our defense is porous at best. Mahomes and the receivers should have a field day. We also can't rush the passer...hell, on many snaps Bowles pulls one of our DE into coverage. Our middle linebackers are slow and can't cover. Surprisingly, our offense played much better than anticipated...but Baker, as much as I love him, is forcing throws and as you probably know, leads the league in int's. We had a "three headed monster" at running back, even acknowledged by Bowles, but our third RB only have 4 touches last week. And many folks think he is our best RB (Sean Tucker). Lastly, we have a horrible record on Monday nights...I hope they prove me wrong. As several on this board have predicted, I see the score being 34-17...hell, KC may score 50 on us. Teams usually "get right" when they play the Bucs...we seem to cure whatever is ailing a team. Go Bucs!
