The #Chiefs and TE Noah Gray reached an agreement on a 3-year contract extension worth 19.5M, source said. He gets a $6M signing bonus and $10M guaranteed at signing.

Wonder how much of it comes down to Willie’s knucklehead behavior off the field. Noah Gray keeps himself out of trouble and he’s a solid player on the field. Good hands and good chemistry with the QB. [Reply]
I bet some of the dudes knocking this move are the same ones that insisted that guys like Nikko Remigio and that rugby guy are legit NFL players. Gray is a solid player that the team likes and Mahomes trusts. Solid re-up. I thought the consensus here was to keep Mahomes stocked with weapons (some flashy, some reliable) and replenish the defense by drafting and smart signings like Tranquil?
The TE position has been the 2nd most important position on this team for years. Travis is done this or next year, and some of y’all want to fully entrust the future of that position to a rookie (who I think will be good but obviously hasn’t done shit yet) ? So we could keep Willie Gay? [Reply]

But... could a combination of Gray and Wiley (if he plays up to what he did well in college) be pretty damn effective? You bet.
Yep. Replace the production, not the player.
That production comes from Rice and Worthy, not another tight end.

I don't think this is just semantics to say that it has NOT been the second most important position, but rather that Kelce was the second most important player. There's a difference. [Reply]

What? more than I thought we would run with our wideout room this year... Last year we did more of it out of necessity. It explains why he would want to extend Gray now, if he's going to be more of a target and if successfull like last night, would fetch much more in FA. [Reply]
