Our defense is OK and probably going to be pretty good with everyone back. Which frees us up to focus every damn draft pick on weapons next year! [Reply]
The positive is mahomes showed a lot of how great he is. This team had no business winning and yet we should have. I would take that mahomes performance in a loss WAY over Goffs completely lackluster performance in a win. Despite WRs at times flat out not getting open we found a way. We lost because of drops and that’s way different from sacks, errant throws, or throwing into the ground out of frustration. Most of the “pessimism” is that mahomes shouldn’t have to win this way and the frustration on his face yesterday and two seasons ago should never be ignored. [Reply]
Just watched the replay on condensed version. Guys this really wasn't that bad.
Defense played real well. Gave the offense every opportunity to win. OL did the same. Taylor and Smith played very well overall. There's a few things that hurt us.
Injuries killed this offense last night. Pacheco had off-season surgery and didn't play in the preseason. You could tell tonight. He's still getting in game shape. Losing him was a big blow. Toney was in camp for 5 mins before he got hurt. No game snaps for him and you could tell. Get them more reps and they'll be back. Obviously Kelce was sorely missed.
Basically we went into a gun fight with a knife. Adding back Kelce will be huge. Omenihu coming back, Chris will be back at some point and Pacheco will be healthy soon.
We'll be fine. In fact I'm really happy with what we saw from Rice and FAU. Both of them showed a lot of promise [Reply]

WR’s made mistakes, bad calls in short yardage, and we lost by 1 against a good team.
I think we’ll get it corrected. We’ll get HOF Kelce back. We’ll get All Pro Jones back at some point. We’ll get Omenihu back.
Annoying as hell, but a wake up call for the WR crew and our coaches for short yardage packages.
