This is my take as well. I live in Louisiana and all the talk is of course the Saints so - he does have a history of injury. Hopefully Veach will look else were. Can't help the club from the tub. [Reply]
How does this potential trade affect the salary cap for both teams? The Saints converted 53 million in salary to bonuses in the last three seasons, so I'd assume they would be on the hook for those cap hits. I'm unsure if that would be this year's or next year's cap, though. If it's this year, I'm not sure how they could handle that.
And would this be a half-year rental? I can't imagine the Chiefs trading a third-rounder for that unless it's a pick swap (3rd for Lattimore and a 4th or 5th). I can't imagine the Chiefs taking the cap hit for him beyond this year unless there is a restructuring. [Reply]

I broke down the Chiefs side earlier. $36.5M for the next two years. Seems unlikely he is willing to play at that number, especially if he helps key a SB win.
For the Saints, any remaining restructure/bonus money would accelerate if he was traded. 1/2 would hit the 24 cap and half the 25 cap, as I understand it. Post-June 1 trade. [Reply]

I don't see CB as a position we need to trade for. One of our injuries is just a concussion so he'll be back. And Williams was the slotted starter going into the year who's played very solid in the past. I'm not concerned with it honestly.
I’d love to have his talent in house for this run, but the future implications do scare me a little especially with the hammy issue.
Toeing the line where you don’t give more than he is worth is really hard when odds are he isn’t on the roster next year. And if he were to stick around, what’s the opportunity cost?
I don’t want Marshon Lattimore to cost us Trey Smith, if that’s how that should play out. [Reply]
