You better pick that last fucking option :-) [Reply]
I had lunch in Excelsior Springs today at the Wabash Station BBQ. It was OK. Nothing fabulous. Got a brisket/turkey combo and some fries. It was about $10. Decent for the money, and for sure the best BBQ in that part of the world. [Reply]

The only thing great about Walbash was the music out on the "Slab" years ago and the hot gal who lived just off of DT in a monster of a Victorian house. Helen I think I was:-)
Never cared for the food there, never bad, never good, kewl building the first time you see it.
Wabash is one of mine and my crews favorite BBQ joints. Anytime we work up that way its a never miss. The smoker outside is the coolest old thing I have ever seen. Talked to the pit boss he is old school. Its not the best and far from the worst I have ever been to. Its consistent and never had a bad Q there and thats all you can ask for IMO.
The slab? You mean the wood bandstand the blues acts come through? [Reply]

Yeah I think the first time I was there that there wasn't a roof over it. It's been too long but I was there when music was first introduced and the had both lunch and a to go sammie from there later. I remember the gal I was with... every detail. [Reply]
