Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
If he had stayed in the pocket and thrown he may have not needed Thomas to dive for it.
There are so many plays he made that were MUCH more impressive than him making an awkward throw for no reason.
One of the biggest criticisms of Mahomes is exemplified on that play. He scrambles and makes a running throw for no reason. Why break from your mechanics in a clean pocket? Just step up and deliver.
Don't get me wrong, it resulted in a *slightly* less accurate pass and I'm a big fan of mahomes. I'm just surprised that's the play that caught your attention.
I dunno, I think ball placement was actually good on that throw. Low in a spot where only Thomas could catch it. Thomas was going to be blown up if he threw that ball at normal height. Three guys were standing there waiting to knock the hell out of Thomas as soon as he caught it and tried to turn/run. Seems like too often the receiver gets hung out to dry for a devastating hit. i am rather giddy myself about the prospect of the chiefs having a playoff caliber qb, but thou does project too much :-) [Reply]
This tweet really doesn't have anything to do with Mahomes but when I saw it, it made me think of what we've seen from him in the past year. There have been so many plays that were freaky like this Rodgers pass.
This throw in 2008 basically foreshadowed everything that was to come with Aaron Rodgers. pic.twitter.com/tkEGIOeZ6H
It's just so nice to finally be able to bitch about other positions on the Chiefs roster.
For instance; Eric Fisher was good enough for Alice, but the Chiefs need to rebuild the O-line with talent commensurate to that of the QB now. Taking fatties in the first round for Smith?
FAIL.
Taking fatties in the first round for Mahomes?
WIN.
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCHO WIN! [Reply]

one could postulate that due to alex's ability to give up on a play, made the oline look worse than they are? :-) [Reply]

If anything, I want fatty upgrades that can make the most of Hunts talent; I'm not worried about Mahomes' protection in the slightest.
im good with adding depth on the o-line (considering how often a lower round pick ends up supplanting a veteran), as long as for the next two years, defense is priority number 1 :-) [Reply]
