1. If you're a new player, start with the current Chiefs roster. If you've been playing for a while you'll have your own evolved roster.

2. You can add any free agent that the Chiefs add.

3. You lose any free agent that the Chiefs lose, but only if they were on the Chiefs' roster when you began playing.

4. You can accept or reject any trade the Chiefs make as long as any Chiefs player involved is currently on your roster.

5. You do not get players that the Chiefs draft. You draft your own players, using the same draft picks that the Chiefs have.

6. You can trade down ONE time before the draft or after the draft. If you trade down before the draft, you get up to full value for your pick according to this chart: https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-V...-Rich-Hill.asp. (Note: this chart was updated in 2022.) If you trade down after the draft, the value of the picks you trade must be discounted by at least 25 percent. Any trade down must involve only the picks of one NFL team, and you cannot receive more than two picks more than you give up. (In other words, if you trade away one draft pick you cannot pick up more than three in return.) The other team's picks also must be picks that they held prior to the opening of the draft. See the examples at the bottom of the post.

6. You can trade up ONE time before the draft or after the draft. Okay, having tested the waters I think we've got enough interest in this. There will be two other games as well that I'll announce soon.

The concept of this game is to, over a series of years, see which Chiefsplanet members are best at building a team. We can have an unlimited number of players, and this game will take very little time on your part - just a little bit of time and some voting.

Here's how the game will work.

Step 1. First, you have to locate your team in a city. It cannot be in a city that has an existing NFL team, so you must pick from the following cities, which are the largest cities that don't have an NFL team, but ensuring that there's at least one city in every state. If we have more than 100 players I'll add to this list. (List deleted for brevity. If you start playing, just pick a city.)

Step 2. Once the NFL draft is complete on April 26, owners will select players who were available with each Chiefs selection (i.e., do their own draft) and add these people to their roster. If the Chiefs make any draft day trades, the player may choose to accept or reject the trade and act accordingly.

Step 3. After training camp, each owner selects 40 (Edited up from 35) Chiefs players who are "their" players who will make up their roster. The remaining 13 positions will be filled by a generic "scrub".

Step 4. At the end of the season, the person will provide an overview of who started at each position over the course of the year, providing the number of starts at each position by each player. Edit: the rules for doing so are discussed in Post 285.

Step 5. At the end of the season, we will have a Survivor-style vote among the general Chiefsplanet population to determine who had the best team that year, including impacts of injuries and other issues.

Step 6. In Year 2 (and beyond), the player starts with his/her core of 40 players, adds new players through the draft, and can then pick another core of players from the following pool: their 40-player core, new drafted players, and any new free agent that joins the Chiefs

If the Chiefs make a trade that includes draft picks, each owner can choose to accept or reject that trade on their own team. If the Chiefs make a trade involving a player on the Chiefs roster, the owner can accept that trade ONLY if his/her own roster includes that player.

There will be no trades between owners, and no implications of the salary cap.

I realize that in the first season we'll have a lot of players with similar rosters, but they'll diverge over time and that's where it'll get interesting.

So...if you're interested in playing, claim your city and name your team.

Added Rules and Reminders:

1. Remember that you can draft undrafted rookies, so you don't have to select only guys who were drafted.

2. Anyone can change their rookie draft selections at any time, UNTIL we reach ten days before training camp. At that point, all picks will be locked in.

3. Each team can do ONE trade of draft picks if they like, using this chart:http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...t-trade-chart/. However, if you're trading up, you have to pay 15 percent more than the stated value of the picks you're obtaining. If you're trading down, your pick's value will be discounted by 25 percent.

For example, if you want to trade up from the 20th pick in the 1st to the 10th pick, you can see from the chart that the 20th pick is worth 259 points. The 10th pick is normally 369 points, but by paying 15 percent more, it will cost you 1.15*369, or 424 points. So you would need to come up with another 165 points to make the deal (424-259)

For example, if you want to trade down from the 20th pick in the 1st and pick up the 10th pick in the 2nd, your 20th pick would normally be worth 259 points, but in this game it will be worth 25 percent less, or 194 points. The 10th pick in the 2nd is worth 142 points, so you can get 52 points back from the other team. (Remember that you cannot pick up more than two extra picks in the trade, so consider your math carefully.)

You can do only ONE draft-pick trade up and ONE draft-pick trade down, and in each case you can only trade with one other team for their own picks. (In other words, you couldn't take the 52 points in the above example from a third team.)

I came into this draft with KC's baseline selections (1-32, 2-64, 3-95, 4-131, 5-167, 5-173, 6-208, and 7-252).

Since I decided I'm keeping Sneed and do not have selection 221, I'm executing my own trade in the draft.

I'm going to trade up with Buffalo as follows:

184 + 80 + 9 = 273*0.85 = 232.05

209 + 13 + 10 = 232

The overall theme here is to inject talent into my depleted weaponry on offense, especially at WR.

1-028: WR Xavier Worthy, Texas (KC 1-28)
I loved this pick by KC and their draft overall. Worthy is a speed merchant that will inject a homerun hitter into my lineup that it has been severely lacking. I'm banking on premier ability here and I hope it pays off because the allure of going all-in on Brian Thomas is strong.

3-095: WR Troy Franklin, Oregon (DEN 4-102)
Franklin's inexplicable fall I feel is to my benefit here as I had a 1st round grade on him. Franklin adds more speed and is a guy who can uncover at all levels. He's walking into a situation where he can see a lot of targets early on.

4-131: TE Jared Wiley, TCU (KC 4-131)
Wiley was my top TE want in this draft. I like his seam-stretching ability and his large frame as a red-zone target. Once he learns to work the intermediate level well and find soft spots in zones, I think he's going to be really good.

5-144: OC Hunter Nourzad, Penn State (KC 5-159)
I feel as though I'm repeating the Chiefs' draft but I loved it, the players, and the positional values fit my needs as well. Nourzad gives me some versatility on the interior. With Bozeman being atrocious this past season, I really need a new reserve there.

5-160: RB Rasheen Ali, Marshall (BAL 5-165)
Ali might not get a chance for too many early reps but injuries are always a possibility. I think he's a really nice fit as a dual-threat back with starter traits. I like him more than Tracy and age is a factor here as well. I'm taking a shot here at improving my reserve situation.

5-167: WR Malik Washington, Virginia (MIA 5-184)
Washington could end up an instant starter in the slot, which would really help offset the pending loss of Boyd in the next year or two. I like his speed and ability to get open underneath.

6-208: OG Christian Mahogany, Boston College (DET 6-210)
I'm always looking to bolster the trenches to a fault. Mahogany is a depth play here for the future as he'll likely sit and learn for a year and improve his body and pass-blocking range. He has the physicality and temperament you want from a potential starter on the interior.

7-252: ER Jaylen Harrell, Michigan (TEN 7-252)
I'm taking a major stab at an edge here this late but I like Harrell's makeup as a fluid speed rusher at 3-4 OLB and I think he'll get the opportunity for snaps in sub packages early on in his career.

First off, I'm not going to accept either of the Chiefs' two draft day trades.

However, I'm going to make a trade down with the Colts.

I'm giving up Pick 1-32 (138 points after the 25% discount), and in return I will take 2-52 (109 points), 4-117 (25 points), and 7-234 (2 points)

Therefore, I now have ten picks.

2-52 WR Adonai Mitchell (2-52 Colts) - He was the target of my trade down, because he seemed like a good value compared to my other options. I didn't seriously consider trading up even though I like Worthy.

Also considered: Xavier Legette, Jer'zhawn Newton, trade down for Kris Jenkins.

2-64 WR Malachi Corley (3-65 Jets) - I need receiver help badly, so I doubled up on my first two picks, and I didn't see options at other positions that were compelling.

Also considered: Andru Phillips, Jermaine Burton, trade down for Adisa Isaac.

3-95 DT DeWayne Carter (3-95 Bills) - I've got a bunch of young guys at DT and I need someone to step up. Carter has a chance to start in that group, but anything can happen.

Also considered: McKinnley Jackson, Ja'Tavion Sanders, Brandon Dorlus, Devontez Walker

4-117 RB Jaylen Wright (4-120-Dolphins) - My running back room is really thin, so it made sense to add Wright with a mid-round pick.

Also considered: T.J. Tampa

4-131 Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (4-141 - Bills) - I had a big lineup hole at center since Cody Whitehair moved to guard. I strongly debated taking a promising guy lower, but I figure this guy will immediately start and upgrade my line.

Also considered: Cam Hart, Anthony Gould, Austin Booker, Jarvis Brownlee, Tommy Eichenberg, Hunter Nourzad.

5-167 OT Walter Rouse (5-177 Vikings) - I'm thin at tackle, but I don't have an immediate need. Rouse will be a developmental guy.

Also considered: Quan'tez Stiggers

5-173 CB Caelen Carson (5-174 Cowboys) - I really need cornerbacks, but with other needs I had to take them late. Carson seems to have promise and could easily grab a starting job for us.

Also considered: Very strongly considered Johnny Wilson but already drafted two WRs. Also Jase McClellan, D.J. James, Khristian Boyd.

6-208 DE Cedric Johnson (6-214 Bengals) - I've got starters at DE, but need developmental depth. Johnson is a good fit here.

Also considered: Ryan Flournoy, Brendan Rice, Nathan Thomas.

7-234 DE Myles Cole (7-236 Jaguars). This was a luxury pick for me since I had most of my needs covered. Again, I need developmental depth at DE.

Also considered: Really strongly considered Ladarius Henderson here. Also considered Matt Lee, but decided to invest earlier in a center.

7-252 CB Kalen King (7-255 Packers). My cornerback situation is odd. I've got depth, but need quality starters, so I'm rolling the dice here.

Also considered: Really wanted Cornelius Johnson, but I've already spent two high picks on WRs. Also considered Nick Gargulio, but decided to get a center earlier.
