Making your own sloppy joe mix is very easy and tasty and I don't know why I just don't do it more often instead of thinking of that canned crap. The baby was all about it and he isn't keen on ground beef so I figure I'll start making my own more often.

Sloppy joes and tater tots. Easy is best on Monday nights.

Hell yes, been awhile, I need to make some.

Nothing too exciting - 1 lb. ground beef with a yellow onion diced, cup of ketchup, cup of water, tbsp of yellow mustard, tbsp spicy mustard, splash of hot sauce, splash of worchestershire, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, couple of tbsps of gates, tbsp of brown sugar, salt, pepper to taste. Simmer for about 30 minutes or so and it's good to go. I throw some yellow mustard on there and have a couple of dill pickles along side it.

I was actually going to use a can of manwich but I broke the can opener yesterday and was forced into making a mix when I realized I had no way to open a can without going to the store or using the claw end of a hammer.

I really wanted to throw some red pepper flakes in there and would have done a green pepper if I would have thought to grab one. Both of those are additions my wife and 14 month old prolly wouldn't have been too fond of though.

I got about 1.5 pounds of leftover cubed roast and thought about throwing that in the slow cooker with onion and green pepper then doing a rough chop in the food processor, top with provolone cheese for a sloppy joe style cheese steak. Saw it on facebook but they used ground beef in a pan.

I have never liked anything there except double dipped wings. (Twice fried)

Also had fried plantains (very good) and "festival bread," which is a fried cornmeal dough (heavenly).
Bought some quarters and separated them, marinating since last night. Made the sauce with some Red Stripe, and set to grill as soon as I get home. I used jalapenos and some sriracha instead of the more authentic habanero (which I couldn't find), but the paste had a nice heat, and the sauce was excellent.

Pics tonight.

I have a burger where I had them sub a chicken for the beef patty, and it was very good. But the salad, as with most salads, was salad.

That looks good, I think I could smell that chicken looking at the pic. Rice looks pretty plain though.

Rice is just basmati cooked with chicken stock. I like plain white rice.
