Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs trade Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins
Dante84 10:34 AM 03-23-2022
Will update OP with more info.

Here it is: The #Chiefs are trading six-time Pro Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the #Dolphins, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

The return is a first-round pick and more, while Hill gets a contract extension that puts him among the highest paid WRs in the NFL.

Chiefs are trading six-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft, sources tell ESPN.

Dude, the ENTIRETY of his contract is guaranteed in the first two years - $50M now and $70M this time next year.

Unless they cut him and take a massive cap hit after 2022, they're on the hook.

It's not hard to understand.

And once the QB-fiends get what WE ALL WANTED in Mahomes, it turns into 'hey! Everything's fine, just enjoy!! Nobody makes mistakes anymore . . . There are no obstacles that can't be overcome with Mahomes flinging another few impossible passes, and if we don't win, . . . well maybe we win tomorrow, or next year, or in a few years, . . . stop moping.'

And even then, the response wasn't vitriol, but cautious admonition . . .

Who lobbed vitriol at you for overconfidence? Name names.
Good Lord. Stop being so dramatic and relax a bit.

I was feeling pretty down about this but then realised the upside. Let's enjoy seeing everyone try and use their bullshit Cover 8/Cover 1 million approach now. Dicks.

Option B is he wanted more money for himself in the “I want even more stuff” kind of way. Cars, houses etc which I’m calling him greedy on.

It doesn’t require a great deal of knowledge to come to the conclusion that it’s option B.

And if it it is Option A and he’s finically struggling with the money he’s making now then you’re right he has much bigger problems than winning.

Again see Nic Cage
Calling someone greedy for wanting more money is the dumbest fucking thing imaginable. We all want more money.

Traded? For sure these guys:
Seymour
Logan Mankins
Chandler Jones

And they've let many just walk too.
Ty Law comes to mind.
Lawyer Malloy
Wes Welker.
JC Jackson could end up one.

And plenty of quality talents too not as good as these.

Ok Hill or Ronald Jones, Clowney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, an extra 1st rd pick and an extra 2nd round pick?

I also don't understand pushing part of Frank Clark's dead money into next year if your whole goal is to save money for the future. All these moves make no sense in combination with each other.

I’ll feel better about this trade if Veach can sign or trade for another impact veteran WR… not some Julio Jones-brokedick to provide a buffer as the Chiefs develop a rookie WR (or multiple rookie WR’s) into their offense.

This is copium of the highest order. None of those guys were close to as good as Hill is right now at the moment they were let go.
Seymour was a 3X first team all pro and multi year pro bowler coming off his best season when Bill traded him. He was 29 years old and still in his prime. The Raiders made him the highest paid player in football less than 2 years later.

Then they ended up drafting a guy named Chandler Jones and then Donta Hightower shortly after.

Yeah I’m gonna go with what history tells me. Dumbass

It sucks to lose Tyreek. Have never and will never see another player with his skil set. The fastest player to ever play in the NFL. Would he have lost that speed over the next few years? Maybe, guess that's part of what the Chiefs are banking on?

The silver lining to this trade is Veach. He always seems to be one step ahead of the league. He's trying a soft rebuild before we have to pay ludicrous contracts and I think thats ultimately the right decision.
