Muddle 5-6 blackberries in a glass
Add 3-4 dashes bitters
.75 ounce sage simple syrup*
1.5 ounces high quality bourbon (Buffalo Trace or Knob Creek are my favorites)
Mix
Add ice to the brim
Sage simple syrup: 7-8 sage leaves; 1 Cup sugar (white is fine but sugar in the raw is better); 1 Cup water.
Combine all agreements in small sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Stir. Turn off stove and let sit for at least 30minutes. Strain into container
Found the recipe online some time ago and really enjoy it in the summer
Was diving with the younger son all weekend so not much drinking. We ended up at this place called Sparky's in Eureka Springs and they gave me the first Sailor Jerry's and diet Dr. Pepper I've had in quite a while and it was awesome. So we're the ribs. T'was a great weekend.

I felt like I cut down on buying booze in the past 6 months but occasionally get a bottle of something here and there. We aren't boozing in the pool as much since our son has been born and I'm back up to 60 some-odd bottles in the bar. I like being able to make random drinks here and there so we have quite the assortment, although about 25 bottles are bourbon/whiskey.
Can't recall if I shared this but another very simple drink recipe, this one for Gin lovers.
Called a Dragon Fly
2 oz Gin
4 oz ginger ale
juice from 1 lime
Nice summer drink instead of always going with the traditional gin and tonic.

Other than the oppressive heat, lewdogs place is looking pretty nice. You're like one of those doomsday preppers but you've cornered the liquor market.
