Throwing the football has always been the fun part for him." Mahomes will get a full offseason as Kansas City’s starter after spending his first year learning behind Smith. A college producer with dual-threat upside, Mahomes has the makings for a 2018 breakout.

He's going to be a nice sleeper in Fantasy Drafts.

I'm in a league with half Chiefs fans, and our league also values QB higher with TDs counting for 6 pts and 1 pt per 20 yards... so I'm guessing someone will reach for Patrick.

However, he's a player that I would absolutely be comfortable starting the year with. Offenses with that stable of weaponry are so damn rare.

Also why I continue to say that the redshirt year was perfect. Kid gets to step onto the field knowing his offense, knowing its intricacies, many of the little details for the 'mental game'... He'll learn a whole lot more playing over the years, but it was always important that when he got his chance, he'd be able to focus more on what the defense was doing and less on the offense.

I thought he came out of camp and pre season on fire and ready to lead, but it was probably for the best that he spend a season studying and running through each game mentally on the sideline in real time.
Seems the kid is a sponge and has absorbed his lessons quickly, so I'd say that we're not going to miss a beat in 2018.
And thank god I can finally watch football again.

Still expect to run the West, that's for sure...

Although I could see a scenario where Gruden gets Oakland to play some solid football in the short term. What happens when they go to Vegas will be another story.
