I know I had a good time.

The Chiefs were a traveling freakshow and I was the dude with the curly mustache and the top hat pulling back the curtain every week.

"It was...fun."

He sucked...but not boring.

Alex...just boring.
That Rison TD vs. Raiders game was fun as hell.

Yeah, when watching games, some listen to the network broadcast. Some cued Mitch and Lenny. I put Yakety Sax on a loop.

I remember watching Cassel goof around out there and having De Anza Jig by Primus in my head while watching. Like a combo between that and the theme to Curb would get stuck in my head.

So Alex's greatest season in the NFL, which ended yet again with an 0-1 in the playoffs is the benchmark?

Shoot higher Clark.

Wouldnt worry about a lackadaisical, malingering attitude setting in either... for all of Reids flaws, he IS a good motivator type whos players love him, not to mention we're going to be getting a lot younger in the next couple years

We're gonna have a young and hungry buncha go-getters being led on the field by another young and hungry go-getter... Mahomes will have our sideline fired up week in and week out, they'll feed off the excitement he creates
To keep things clear [aka not all twisted], I didn't say lackadaisical or bad attitude. My concern is more;

lack of concentration on pass protection [Baldy's GIFs]
Abandoning the run
Trickeration over lining up and punching in the mouth
Clock management, lack of urgency
pass coverage instead of pash rush

The kind of stuff that's been swirling around Reid for years, and the QB has little control over.

A "benchmark" isn't a goal. It is a "standard or point of reference against which things can be marked against."

I love it. Those are high expectations if 26 TD, 5 INT, and 4042 yards is merely a "benchmark"

Pretty sure we'll still have to deal with some of all those things

Reid is still gonna Reid at times, unfortunately he is who he is at this point... but my honest to God, deepest gut feeling is that Mahomes has every tool needed to overcome all of that

Mike McCarthy isnt even half the coach Andy Reid is IMVHO, yet the Packers have a shot at the title every single year... Mahomes is about to elevate this whole franchise, never ever ever been more sure about anything football related

If a Chiefs fan didn't laugh at that moment, or even better, the "hat fail", then they probably killed themselves.

Sports Illustrated reports the rookie-year progress of Patrick Mahomes played a role in the Chiefs trading Alex Smith.

"He’s way ahead of schedule," a Chiefs coach told MMQB’s Albert Breer. "Hearing the play, calling it, motions, shifts, coverage recognition, all of that is much easier. Throwing the football has always been the fun part for him." Mahomes will get a full offseason as Kansas City’s starter after spending his first year learning behind Smith. A college producer with dual-threat upside, Mahomes has the makings for a 2018 breakout.

All this Mahomes hype is going to give me an 8 month erection and my doctor said that's not safe. This has to calm down. I want the 2018 season to begin NOW.

He'll be more like Rodgers than Favre
