Trade: Chiefs are finalizing a deal to send franchise CB L’Jarius Snead to the Titans, per league sources.
Chiefs are expected to receive a 2025 3rd-round pick, in addition to a 2024 7th-round pick flop, while Snead will sign a new contract. Trade is pending physical for Sneed. pic.twitter.com/GWjyKAgxZq

Dude barely practiced the last year here. Phantom knee injury? GTFO with that.
And YOUR speculation is that Brett Veach is stupid. [Reply]

Yeah, Bret Veach is stupid.
OR
Do you think KC had serious concerns that the knee was going to hold up long term?
It seems clear that KC didn't think Sneed was a good investment long term.

It may turn out to be a mistake, but we don't know that now.
You've been pissed about the return since the trade happened, and that's just not an opinion based in reality. Big contract+draft picks+injury concerns= 3rd rounder. That's just reality.
In KC, you know that he coaches loved him, whole team loved him. Knee was a problem.
Seems to me, Veach wasn't willing to bet $20m per that it was going to hold up long-term.
We'll see how it goes, but I don't fault the thought process. [Reply]

For Veach has been phenomenal at selecting the pieces of this roster FA ring in the cap and draft.
To criticize singular moves as if they happen in a vacuum is silly. Veach has access to the specific training and medical staff that has him trade Sneed versus re-signing him and so far we are 2-0 against a couple elite teams on our way to a history making third championship in a row, while missing a few big pieces (Omenihu, Hollywood, now Pacheco etc)
In the Mahomes era KC had one CB drafted in the first round on the roster…..one. That CB was McDuffie. Somehow they have gone to four SBs while winning three. It would have been nice to keep Sneed, but what he was worth it just wasn’t practical. KC at least salvaged a 3rd round pick for him which they can use to restock a position of need this offseason vs seeing him walk. [Reply]

First - Ward is NOWHERE NEAR the player that Sneed is.
Second - You can't keep everyone. Sneed and his knees had to play a part in that decision. [Reply]

yeah, I really believe it wasn't so much about being able to afford Sneed so much as it was a calculation as to whether we'd be paying a guy who couldn't play that kind of money. Can we afford to have $20m residing in the training room? What are the odds that is how it goes down?
