I'd bet that the Foster/ILB rumor was a leak to keep teams from catching on to their plan. If they had said they were moving for a QB, that would give other teams like Houston, Arizona, or NO a chance to make a move up because they'd fear the Chiefs were taking a QB. Just my guess.

We traded up with one pick and traded the other. The trade up pick was used to acquire Mahomes. Thus two 1sts were spent to get Mahomes
