Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Whats the point of the playoffs if you're just going to lose the first game 95% of the time anyway, at least Mahomes will be fucking fun to watch. Alex Smith is by far the most boring QB to watch in the league. [Reply]
Just a few Mahomes tidbits from Breer's most recent writeup on Dorsey...
Spoiler!
John Dorsey hit three or four milestones along last year's draft process with Patrick Mahomes, but the big one—the one that put Mahomes over the top—came April 5 in Kansas City.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and assistant quarterbacks coach Corey Matthaei met with Mahomes at the start of his six-hour pre-draft visit, and took him through elements of the team’s playbook. At the end of the day, the coaches summoned Mahomes back to see how much of what he learned in the morning he actually retained.
“He was pretty good. He was pretty good,” Dorsey said Wednesday, from the Ladd-Peebles Stadium concourse, as the North team practiced for Saturday’s Senior Bowl. “He could learn. He was really smart. And if you go back and look, he was Big 12 All-Academic three years in a row. It’s another piece of the whole puzzle you’re trying to put together. But I think that’s pretty important.”
Three weeks later, the Chiefs traded the 27th pick, their third-rounder and their 2018 first-round pick to move up 17 slots and draft Mahomes 10th overall.
....
At this point last year, Dorsey and Reid knew that Mahomes had rare tools, and a ways to go developmentally. Which made what they learned from this point forward—that he could absorb teaching, retain information and grow—just as important as the skills the Texas Tech junior brought to the table.

Just more evidence to verify that Alex should have his locker cleaned out and his bags packed so he can catch a flight to whichever team gives us the best offer. Andy can sugar coat it all he wants but the time is now for the new era to begin in Kansas City! [Reply]
I think he meant the metrics say to not punt from the opponent 40....(or so)
not 'never punt' like ever
I did a double take on it , as written also but I think his point is actually correct:
the metrics say to go for it quite a bit on that distance because punting is kind of worthless and kicking a FG is so low % that actually the best % is going for it from that 'grey' area [Reply]

Good Gawd Almighty, havent watched this for a while, but its even better the second and third time around... so good someone oughta put him on a plate and sop him up with a biscuit
Forget the bombs, just look at the brilliant little improvisational plays like we see at 14:44, there is NO teaching that... he is an ASSASSIN
734 passing yards in a single game?
Get the **** outta here
Love this kids personality
Love his background/upbringing
Love that he could've more easily went pro baseball but chose football because he loved it more
Love the generational arm talent
Love that when KC finally decided to go get their own guy, they got the most superior talent since Favre [Reply]
