Nzoner's Game Room>Chiefs trade Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins
Dante84 10:34 AM 03-23-2022
Will update OP with more info.

Here it is: The #Chiefs are trading six-time Pro Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the #Dolphins, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

The return is a first-round pick and more, while Hill gets a contract extension that puts him among the highest paid WRs in the NFL.

Chiefs are trading six-time Pro-Bowl WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks: a 2022 1st-round pick (No. 29), a 2nd-round pick (No. 50) and a 4th-round pick, as well as 4th- and 6th-round picks in the 2023 draft, sources tell ESPN.

And remember how the selling point of Mahomes 10 year deal was how flexible it was and how we'd be able to re-structure it so easily to keep top players. 1 year in and that's terribly false.
It’s still a great deal going forward you buttfucking moron.

If losing Tyreek means we can have a Defense that isn't pathetic and a more Solid overall team it will be worth it.

Tyreek is a top 15 player in the NFL in his prime.

Trading a guy like that away is a very not ideal thing to do.

It's a thing that tanking teams who don't have championship aspirations do. Not ones supposedly in the middle of a Super Bowl window.

Whoever bought that doesn't understand the cap.

But again - I did try to teach anyone that would listen...

The selling point of Mahomes 10 year deal is that it's a 10 year goddamn deal for the best player on the planet. Everything else is gravy.

Did the Chiefs run this trade by Mahomes before the trigger was pulled? He has to be disappointed.

A restructure is not the same as an extension of re-working his deal to get him more money and have him here longer.

No. Tanking teams trade the franchise QB. Like the Seahawks.

Is Marijuana damaging Tyreek's brain?

Sometimes it ain't being an optimist OR a pessimist.

If you have a clear outlook on how you think things should be done (right, wrong or otherwise) you're going to end up on both sides of various discussions.

It's the nice thing about having a compass. You don't have to bend over backwards trying to formulate an opinion that jibes with your 'trend'. You don't have to squint to call everything Veach does good or everything he does bad.

You can play them as they lay.

More people should try it - in all walks of life really. It's a hell of a lot simpler this way.

There's nothing logical about needing to be the highest paid guy. Hill wasn't ever going to starve had he just played out this deal and retired.

This is a pride thing. And ultimately giving him another $3-5 million on his last deal wouldn't have changed that.

He had the earning potential to swing his dick and so he did.
Oh I 100% agree. I expected him to want to be paid as the top WR. I thought we'd give it to him.

Trading a guy that just turned 28 three weeks ago because you don't want to pay him market value just doesn't make sense to me. We all predicted he'd be making Davante Adams money and rightfully so. And yet no one talked about trading him until after the fact. Just reeks of copium.

Bc the resentment led to this. You don't think being underpaid for years made him want to break the bank to make up for the prior lack of earnings? If his contract was re-worked a while ago, we could have likely had him longer for a more reasonable cost.

20 million a year is probably enough to take care of a family plus what he already had amassed. If you’re not living comfortably off 20 million you certainly won’t be off 30. Ask Nic cage. You have some serious issues with your decisions if that is the case.

Him putting a finger on the button for CEH was enough for me not to care how Patrick MahGee-Em thinks about potential roster moves.

Yeah. The Patriots only won several SB's by doing exactly that.
