The Chiefs latest dynasty run was a direct product of the Tyreek trade. Now money is tight, draft resources are slim, and the young players from Veach's great recent drafts are getting to the age to be paid so will be leaving soon. And that's aside from the glaring need for a franchise LT.
Any chance we could get back what makes it worthwhile to give him up this offseason? [Reply]

Id add Karlaftis to that list. Kid is about to come into his own. [Reply]
I don’t want to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on a LT but if the right guy is there I’d do it. I’m not trading up to do it.
In this draft you could go LT in RD 1 and still get a stud DT and stud RB and still have your late third rounder to do whatever with. Shots not that bad. [Reply]

It’s a terrible LT draft and anyone the Chiefs draft would be a raw project.
Wouldn't be too eager to trade McDuffie but AS A THOUGHT EXPERIMENT what would we get in return?
We got far less for Sneed than I would have guessed (I understand that Sneed is not McDuffie but he was pretty great for us). So I'm not sure we would get an offer that really moved the needle for me.
Also, IIRC the Chiefs traded up to get McDuffie so even if we were to receive a 1st round pick in trade we still wouldn't make back the original investment.
So I'll pick up the phone and listen to offers for everyone not named Mahomes but it seems very unlikely I would let go of our best corner unless someone offers the moon.
As an aside, are the Texans still giving away players and picks for no reason? [Reply]

Like Kingsley.
Like Wanya.
The definition of insanity.
Dude, I agree with you. I think the difference is that I’d still be willing to fire at an OT in the draft under certain situations. Like not being able to address the position in free agency. And by that I don’t mean cheap flyer on a dude like DJ who at best is probably just competition at the position.
But realize we don’t have a lot to piss in besides Kingsley and he’s a giant question mark as it appears the team likes him at guard. So if you have absolutely nothing, you re going to fire at an another tackle in this draft whether you like it or not. Frankly it would criminal to avoid the position all together. [Reply]
I wouldn't trade McDuffie this year I'd explore it with a year left but this idea of going all out to move up for a LT is reckless a rookie LT ain't gonna fix what happened in the super bowl [Reply]
