And with how badly the Vikings need the cap relief you might be able to get him for peanuts.
yes - would love to have him.

Like a 3rd for Rhodes?

i really think we're going to roll our own here, guys.

For FA signings, I'd look at DE's and perhaps a SAM LB.

I do too. I think they're going to look for a #1 CB at the top end of the draft. FA CB's will be supplementary guys like GASP Orlando Scandrick...

Thought about Patrick Peterson too, but he’s only got 2 years left on his deal. Not worth a 2nd

They're not signing Xavien Howard AND anybody. He wants to be the highest paid CB in the league. And yes, they can prorate bonuses and all that (which all teams do BTW) but it isn't going to lessen the blow. Signing Xavien Howard isn't going to happen.
This is going to be a buyers market for safeties. Just like last offseason. Lots of supply and GMs don’t covet safeties like they used to.

Supply
Demand
Age
Injury

These aspects are going to impact his per year average.

Harrison Smiths first year cap hit was only 7m.

Fullers first year cap hit was 6.5m

Veach can literally make enough 2019 cap space to sign Howard and Thomas by restructuring Houston and converting everything but vet minimum of his base salary to a bonus and pushing that amount to next year.

Veach is going to go all in. I’m telling you he’s going to.

Veach will sign a top tier guy at CB and safety...and maybe another move.

And still have space to tag Ford.

Watch.

Would love Ramsey, but I really like that we’re developing our own corners.

Ramsey is a game changer. Basically a lockdown corner.
That's what they said about Josh Norman, though...

Draft, baby. All about the draft.

I'd do that, if gives you a solid base, you have a good outside CB to go with Fuller then you draft a guy to pair with Ward and the position looks solid.

Then you find some help at safety and this secondary is looking up.

That’s why I’m so interested in trading for one of the guys rumored to be available.

Watch Steven Nelson get 12m per.

If Nelson gets 12M per what do you think Howard is going to want?
