With him out, it would be a fine time to figure out how to get in the end zone.

Hopefully the offense will step shit up to counter it.
There's no question that if we continue to play as we've played all season, losing an automatic FG kicker for a guy who couldn't even make 70% in college last year is a significant problem for the next 3-4 weeks. The margin for error with this team has been tiny in most of these games.

But at least it's only the next 3-4 weeks and not the playoffs.

Plus, starting on December 15 we have three games in a 10 day stretch, including four days between the Texans at home and the Steelers on the road.

Yeah, the league's definitely in our corner this year. :-)

It is. Sportsscience or NextGen Stats did a piece on the physics of kicking years ago, so I don't remember the exact amount of force they cited, but the energy translated through the plant leg to the ground is several hundred pounds (some multiple of body weight) due to the steep downward angle taken. Also, a significant part of the energy is dissipated as torque during the follow-through.

I wondered why he was dropping like that last season, but didn't think it was due to pain from a torn meniscus.

Jets tried to keep Shrader- offered him a spot on the roster- opted to go to KC instead.

That was a long time ago. He's now 25 and has never missed an NFL kick. If the trend continues he'll be headed to Canton one day.

No telling how long it takes him to get his confidence/firm back after being off , that ankle injury 2 years took him a while to get back to himself , we are well aware how losing because of a kicker feels like.

Well this isn't great. I wonder if the guy they are bringing in is worth a damn?

Harrison Butker was a 71% FG kicker in college for 4 years at Georgia Tech. :-)

Just sayin . . . . .
