The #Chiefs and TE Noah Gray reached an agreement on a 3-year contract extension worth 19.5M, source said. He gets a $6M signing bonus and $10M guaranteed at signing.

I have to think that while it may be a lot as a back-up TE, we also have to remind ourselves that he also can play the FB position at times. So he has value in terms as a blocker not from the TE position, but rather as a FB position (not in a traditional sense). [Reply]
I think we'll see him being asked to make more key catches like he did tonight. Kelce is old as hell and needs load managed to continue getting him through the playoffs. One of these days his legs are just not going to recover from a game and it'll be lights out. It seems expensive to me, but we might need to bridge the gap to the new guy sooner than we expected. Nobody can replace Kelce. I get it.
But... could a combination of Gray and Wiley (if he plays up to what he did well in college) be pretty damn effective? You bet. [Reply]
I mean, a lot of the trepidation came from who the Chiefs chose not to retain on defense. Those concerns seem to be valid judging by tonight's performance, especially as it pertains to Gay. [Reply]
