I devised a different defensive scoring system myself on a flea flicker league a few years ago. But without reading into deep detail on that reddit thread, I don't think it's inherently better than the standard system. I set field goals to fractional scoring. Under traditional scoring systems, a 10 yard field goal and a 19 yard field goal are both worth 1 point. Under fractional, the 19 yard field goal is worth 1.9 points. The scoring rate is the same across all distances, 1 yard = .1 points. So a 52 yard field goal is 5.2 points.
Everything else is set to default scoring - but reminder - this is a PPR league. [Reply]
