This is horrifying. Supposed to be a press conference soon with more details. Rumors seem to indicate it happened on the Verrukt, the world's tallest waterslide.

Boy, 12, killed in accident at Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City, Kan., police say. https://t.co/Msn6QJO1ZS pic.twitter.com/gse0gZvIC6

Didn't you have to be 14 years old to ride?

Closer to "slippery road" or "wet train"

Will not hurt them in the long run. This is what insurance is for, and if there was an age limit and the family lied will hurt them. Tragic regardless, the only thing that will come from it is changes to the ride.

Where were the parents of the 10 year old that let him go on it?

That could be a big question. If the parents bullied the park to let him on, where does liability stand?

Sounds like he was too short for the ride:

Verruckt is closed during the investigation. However, we have restored the page for those who are interested in rider requirements.

It was a free pass day for Kansas Lawmakers. 10 year old gets on a slide for 14 and up... Sad. But this should be on the parents. State representative lets his kid get on a ride clearly not for his age/size and he gets tossed and dies. Sorry to be the negative Nancy but that seems to be the case.
