Being realistic when we sucked led to SOC, but being realistic when we are great apparently means you are a bad fan.
I am not worried about the season, nor the offense, nor the defense, after Sunday. But, after watching the game a second time, neither of those units were very good, and I feel like the offensive line struggled quite a bit on passing plays, and Bolton & Tranquil were bad.
Without Punt God, Heil Harrison, and an unlikely defensive touchdown, we lose that game.
And Mahomes threw two of his worst interceptions of his career. Yeah, that was a great one handed catch, but it was a terrible pass.
And I still feel like we should win every game. I can have those feelings about the team's or player's performance and still believe we are going to make history and win our third Super Bowl in a row. [Reply]

The Chiefs had a tough opening schedule going up against both the best team in the AFC last year and our biggest competition in the AFC the last few years. They're 2-0, and it's still not good enough. There's nothing "realistic" about the expectations some of you have. [Reply]

Well these last two games will go a long ways towards making that a reality. Counting H2H they are essentially 3 games ahead of two of their biggest obstacles to the #1 seed. [Reply]

Oddly, it seems like we get ourselves hyped up with our own promises of greatness and then we're a bit disappointed when it doesn't immediately happen. Last year it was the receiver room might be amazing and this offseason it was the offense magically turning back the clock to 2019. And people thought they'd blow out perhaps their biggest rival for reasons.
We go into the season thinking undefeated 3peat and then well, Kelce might be old, the offense may not show its cards in week 2 even if it will be better than last season, other teams will really try and teams don't just win every game by 6 touchdowns or lead by 3 touchdowns by halftime.
Our lofty Madden-esque expectations fail us sometimes, even if this is how greatness looks... so enjoy it.

Old enough to remember 6 years ago when this board cried about Mahomes having to carry this franchise on his back and play perfect for us to have success.
Tyreek is gone, Mahomes hasn’t played great and Kelce has 39 yards in 2 games.
