He told the media basically that Veach fucked up cutting Lammons cause he was in the game plan. Basically complaining to the media about it..while having a god awful year. [Reply]

The unit may not have been up to par this year, but I don’t see how cutting it’s best player right before the AFC championship was going to help.
They didn’t cut him. They waived him with the intent to put him on the practice squad and in all likelihood to elevate him again. It probably opened up a roster spot for fortson which is totally worth it. [Reply]

I'll trade Lammons for Fortson eight days a week [Reply]

Oh please. They cut him.
This move seems very strange this late in the season. Doesn't make much sense in my opinion. [Reply]

Yeah, they assumed he was going to slip through waivers, I get it. However, the Bengals play dirty both on and off the field. Hope the Chiefs realize they are going to have to do the same.
The guy has been a 4 phase special teamer for several years now. He's the best we had. To lose him right now is not good, especially if it was to activate CEH or Fortson, who both play positions we are loaded at.
I'll feel better if it's Fortson, if they did this to activate CEH, man it's going to be annoying, especially if there is some sort of ST miscue in the game. [Reply]

Pretty sure Veach didn’t cut him in a bubble. Pretty sure he discussed with Andy who they could afford to lose. [Reply]

I actually like kemp better on ST. So it kind of works out for us. The chiefs knew they had to get rid of somebody early in the week. Which is better than later. [Reply]

I'm sure, but I think they were planning on him slipping through waivers and then they would be able to sign him to the PS and elevate him for the game.
Having CEH or Fortson on the field for 8 total snaps is probably not more valuable than Lammons at this point, for this particular game. Not trying to make it a bigger deal than it is, but the unit was already struggling. Cutting it's best player seems like a bad plan. We'll see, hopefully we don't see any issues. [Reply]

I thought Toub said that "Veach had a plan" and it didn't work out. Presumably to get him on the practice squad? Toub said Veach is a smart guy and always has a plan but this was just how it goes sometimes. Felt bad for Lammons since he can't play anymore this year. I didn't hear him criticize anyone in the press conference.
That was my takeaway as well. I took it more that he was disappointed for Lammons not being able to play the final 2 games [Reply]
