I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.
At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.
So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?
What can be done?
(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.) [Reply]
I’m sorry that I can’t get on board the chicken little train.
The team has not played great, has an issue at LT, injuries at RB and a potential contributor at wr. The defense is missing a couple of pieces and making adjustments.
I lived through seasons of Tyler Palko and Thigpen and Cassel….this team is 3-0 vs 3 projected playoff teams. The team is chasing a third cpsuperbowl in a row. There were decades when I’d have harmed a stranger to see this offense in KC.
It’s not time to panick. Stay the course Andy. [Reply]

Two years ago without Tyreek, this was statistically/eye test the best offense in football… since Nagy replaced EB as OC, the decline has been significant.
When are you guys going to admit that Mahomes is not playing well? It’s not the playcalling.
FFS. Just last night Mahomes missed an open Rice downfield early, threw a pick downfield to a wide open receiver that should have been a TD and threw behind Worthy downfield?
Worrhy has had to play defense to prevent a Mahomes INT in back-to-back weeks now bc Mahomes is underthrowing the ball and not leading him.
Or try passing into the intermediate or deep part of the field more than 6 times a game so Mahomes can develop anything even resembling chemistry with his weapons on throws that aren't horizontal. [Reply]
I think part of the issue is worthy is making mistakes in routes and adjustments.
This is a tough offense to learn….and there is a reason the offense has gotten better as the seasons go on(for rookies) and as worthy grows, this offense will open up. [Reply]

Agreed. We're just a group of ignorant villagers and the Chiefs are playing 4D chess and flying spy drones. They'll figure out whatever needs to be figured out.
Personally, I think we're just seeing a new phase of Chiefs dominance. Everyone is so terrified of Patrick Mahomes that they're selling out to stop the pass, so what does the Chiefs braintrust do? They get power running backs. We'll use the running backs until teams have to adjust, and then begin the aerial bombardments again.
I love watching Patrick Mahomes II throw, and as an ignorant villager I'll advocate that he should throw as often as possible. But I love winning even more than I love watching Patrick Mahomes II throw, so if Andy says we're running for a while, then we run for a while. [Reply]

The guy wants Mahomes to throw it in the intermediate level more without realizing he’s had horrific picks from trying to do that in 3 straight games :-) [Reply]

Oh no, it's fucking obvious. And then they give up on it the rest of the game and we're right back to square one with Mahomes having next to no chemistry with any of his weapons and he's constantly off target as a result. [Reply]
The offense looks bad in the red zone because we're a spread passing team, when the field is condensed we don't run as well because there isn't as much space.
If anything they really should be trying to run out of a spread formation inside the 5 instead of going heavy personnel and getting stuffed each time. [Reply]
We've seen Reid go to Mahomes constantly over the years and remind him to keep firing after he has a bad play. It's a complete 180 nowadays, just turtle up and throw YAC shit the rest of the game then get 3 points in the Red Zone. [Reply]

I think some of that has to do with the way the game has changed. When you could hit big plays, get a lot of possessions etc, a turnover wasn't the end of the world.
Now there are less possession's, no big plays and honestly the best QB's have to literally go into game manager mode to win games. [Reply]

I mean who do you blame there? I find it hard to believe that Nagy is turning Mahomes into Alex Smith. [Reply]
