Nzoner's Game Room>Do We Really Want To Go Undefeated?
Easy 6 03:27 PM Yesterday
Can't wait to get crushed for this opinion, but it just feels like asking for an undefeated season while chasing a threepeat is bad juju... its asking for too much IMO

I'd much rather we lose a game or two just to keep everyone frosty, to remind them that yes they can be beaten if they're not playing their best ball... look no further than the Patriots undefeated season to see what can happen when a team sniffs too many of its own farts

I don't want to meet Detroit in the Super Bowl with our heads in the clouds

Maybe I'm just being superstitious, maybe not... what say you?

Mahomes has already shown to be a curse breaker when he won MVP and the Super Bowl in the same season.

However, I would rest the starters and abandon the quest for the undefeated season as soon as we lock up the one seed. We’ve already had enough injuries this year. Would rather not risk anymore if we don’t have to.
Don’t you hate the Chiefs?

How EPIC would it be to win Third Super Bowl (of Four) in a row after going undefeated...

How about first things first? Get the 3-peat. THEN, go for the undefeated 4-peat season. With a full compliment of players, to boot.

Exactly it’s fools gold because it’s almost just as hard as 3-peat SB! The ability to do both in the same season!!!!! Reid will 10000000% play the starters week 18 if we haven’t lost.

Reid sits starters and we lose that last game but go on to win the SB…..All that will be talked about is how the Chiefs could have been undefeated and 3-peat!

Detroit is going to be a damn monster, Hutchinson or not
Your point is well taken, but fuck the Patriots.

The last time the Chiefs lost a game was to the fucking Raiders and the Chiefs players just this last week mentioned that it grounded them and made them focus more.

Do I want to go undefeated? Hell yeah. I dont want the Chiefs to ever lose again.

But I doubt it works out that way. We'll lose a few or rest our guys towards the end to focus on ramping up for the threepeat.

Give me both. An undefeated season in during a 3 peat would cement this as the most dominant 6 year era for any team ever.

As much as it's about the 3-peat being more important than the undefeated season I wouldn't be able to pick which game/games to lose. Every week going in I'll be wanting that win bad. And if we lose I'll be pissed.

The Patriots went undefeated.

Everyone remembers it.

Nobody remembers who wins a random Super Bowl.

Usually I would say all hands on deck and for the #1 goal to be to go undefeated but not this year. We have a chance to do something no team has ever done before. But if they go undefeated. I tell you what, Ill allow it.

They are going to go into every game wanting to win. Some might be more vanilla than others, the last week or two could end up in resting guys more than normal, but they aren’t going to say “well we need to lose a game so we can win the Super Bowl”. I’d be shocked if going undefeated and 3peat isn’t the goal. Obviously winning the Super Bowl is the main goal though.

Yeah, that seems to be rewriting history a bit and jamming a narrative into the game just to make a point... they did get off to a slow start, which is about as close as you can come to saying "if only they had lost a game in week 8..." ....but, they led at halftime and were up 8 early in the 3rd.

And of course that's when Spags turns up the pressure, and Brady got sacked a few times after that and threw a pick.

I guess you could say they lost focus in the 2nd half? ....but then they wouldn't have done so had they lose earlier in the season? :-) Seems silly.

If anything, I'd say they folded under the pressure of an undefeated season becoming a little more real in the 2nd half, and there's nothing indicating Mahomes would do that.
