Man!!!! I love Andy Reid. The @Chiefs and Andy Reid are offensive line savants. Kingsley Suamataia has big time potential. I think he he can be awesome guard or tackle. Just needs a little technique work. He is an aggressive killer who is great athlete.
Kingsley Suamataia is a versatile offensive tackle who split his 1,300 career snaps at BYU almost exactly down the middle between left and right tackle.
My favorite line from Dane Brugler's draft guide: "He delivers more pancakes than Denny's"
Traitsy OT w/ great size+athleticism+strengt. Easy range in the run game to pull or climb to landmarks or hit set points in slide. Patient hand usage to stay square and trust his lateral agility. Pad level & overall technique should develop in NFL. pic.twitter.com/p9zOJEuMkr

Don't get me wrong - when your weakness is THAT bad, you're a problem. But it really was just the one weakness - he was really exposed protecting his outside shoulder against speed.
This wasn't Cam Erving where whatever you did you'd beat him. This was a situation where a guy who had the outside burst to attack him wide just ate his lunch.
One problem is easier to fix than multiple.
No matter what, we didn’t see any progress today from Week 2. That’s the same player.
Which means two things.
1) The LT this season MUST be either Wanya or preferably Donovan Smith. But they both need to be on the roster so that Kingsley can be removed from any chance at cracking the lineup this year.
2) We cannot go into 2025 trusting Kingsley to be the LTOTF. Veach is going to have to address this position as priority #1 entering the offseason. It might even cost us Trey Smith or Thuney, but something has to be done. [Reply]

Right.
Like after today, I’ll consider anything salvaged as a win with this player but there is not a chance in hell that he becomes a sure starter at LT by next year. Wanya was better as a rookie.
Smith needs to be brought back as the starter, and Wanya the backup. Kingsley can redshirt the rest of the year and hopefully become functional as even just a swing tackle for the future.
It’s pick 63, those don’t usually become franchise LTs. But damn, ya gotta be better than this. [Reply]
If we knew Wanya would stay healthy all year, that would probably be fine enough to still win. A veteran may not be any better.
But we cannot risk what happens if Wanya gets hurt again, especially in the middle of the playoffs. You can’t see what we’ve seen from Kingsley and allow that to be your depth plan for injury at either tackle spot. [Reply]

To be fair, though, I was thoroughly rebuked for suggesting that Wanya is anything other than terrible. Post non-negative comments at your peril. [Reply]

I think the team would have been happy to re-sign Brown for what Cincy is paying, but that wasn't on the table. Remember, he wanted top LT money and only took that Cincy deal when it became clear he had played himself. [Reply]

I don't know. I'm pretty sure Erving was better. His worst season with us he allowed 4.5 sacks. Pretty sure Kingsley has allowed that in basically 2.5 games and the sacks and hits he allows are just crushing.
At least we were still able to run a normal high flying offense with Cam. The Chiefs clearly don't trust Kingsley enough for that. If we tried to run a 2019 offense with Kingsley in with all the deep drop backs and deep plays, Mahomes would die. [Reply]

LT is one of the hardest positions to plug and play in the NFL. He was raw when drafted and the thought he could step in Day 1 and be the LTOTF was probably wishful thinking.
Give the kid an offseason to see what he looks like, but to put him in the same category as Skyy after 9 games is overreacting. I am not against bringing in a veteran like Smith as insurance for the rest of the season though. [Reply]
