Nzoner's Game Room>*****The George Karlaftis Thread*****
Dante84 09:16 PM 04-28-2022
More to come!

What are the #Chiefs getting in George Karlaftis?

Had an NFC Personnel executive tell me “He reminds me of J.J. Watt, when Watt was coming out. An explosive and versatile playmaker who has a high motor and can line up at 3,5, or 7. Very strong kid” #NFL #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/5qM3g6OrMr

George Karlaftis was drafted with pick 30 of round 1 in the 2022 draft class. He scored a 9.23 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 116 out of 1503 DE from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/iXXBvnoFJc #RAS #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/eZ9XjNRDUB

“I was sitting there the whole night hoping we’d be able to get you.”

This kid is going to be a stud. This may be the best draft class of Veach's career and that's saying something.
nothing can ever top trading up for the best QB we ever did see. But I know what you mean.

Veach wasn't GM, so don't consider that draft his.

A few of those reps he dominated were against Charles Leno, JR. not an elite LT, but he’s probably top 10. He was the 14th rated OT (regardless of left or right), on PFF last year.

The kid dominated him.

If it were a full game, it would have gotten ugly.

Curious to see how PFF grades the edge rushers after this weekend. I havent watched many of the other games but Karlaftis has to be top 5.

I always worry about how they transition into the NFL (like most of us) - but yeah, looked pretty darned good out there! I'm excited - hope he is a beast!

And one thing to keep in mind-Karlaftis' approach is one that will wear on an OT as the game goes on. He's going to get a lot of late game sacks as OT's wear out with his relentless motor. That physicality is going to play.
