This is a pretty cool concept. Teams of 5 grapplers compete in submission-only matches one at a time. If time expires, both fighters are eliminated. Winner stays and fights the next until one team runs out of grapplers.
9pm TV - (NBCSN) - PFL 8
This is the opening round of PFL's playoffs for heavyweights and featherweights. The non-televised prelims are probably going to be on Facebook.
Saturday
7pm TV - (5:30pm Fightpass/7pm FS1/9pm PPV) - UFC 229, Khabib vs. McGregor
Conor finally decides it is time to let us see him fight again, and this time he is the betting underdog against the terrifying Khabib Nurmagomedov. The main card aside from the main event is very good. The prelims are... meh. There are maybe 3 or 4 decent prelim and early prelim fights [Reply]
Khabib was first on the scale right when it opened, 155, championship weight.
edit: So, these fighters are having trouble making weight (or possibly trying to make a show of it):
Conor McGregor
Anthony Pettis
Alexander Volkov
Aspen Ladd
Everyone else on the card has weighed in and made weight.
edit2: Tony Ferguson made championship weight at 155, Conor is probably just making a big late drama show of his weigh-in, but if for some reason he fails to make weight, then Ferguson made sure that he would be eligible for the title fight.
