Lots of good mods on youtube for that smoker. [Reply]

I don't know what kind of asshats work at big box stores where you are, but I'd have probably done the same thing. Holy shit it is a miracle some of those fools remember to breathe.

How did you prep them?
I like "country style" or "Southern" green beans, which is when you cook the shit out of them with bacon, onion, and stock until they get really tender. On the stovetop, you'd usually simmer 60-90 minutes according to the recipes I've seen. I did it in the pressure cooker for about 20 minutes. Turned out great!
I added a few smashed garlic cloves and used some of my homemade bacon, because that's what I had. [Reply]

My Lowes and Homedepot are pretty good they weeded out the young kids and hired middle aged ex construction workers weeded out in the Obama years purge. you still would probably need to tighten everything for sure. Of course you would need a truck if assembled might anyway depending on box size I guess. [Reply]

Well damn, just saw this and the sale ends today.
Betting I'm not gonna have time to talk the wife into that one... [Reply]
Tonight I had two pork tenderloins that I marinated in Lawry's Herb and Garlic Marinade for 24 hours and threw on the community grill. As I was walking back and forth to my unit to finish dinner with tomatoes with Queso Fresco cheese and balsamic dressing, steamed baby bok choy with garlic, baked potatoes with olive oil and sea salt, I spent too much time chatting with my roommate and by the time I got back to the grill, they were over cooked.
Talk about a complete let down and F UP! I was so pissed at myself. Burnt on the outside and dry on the inside.....

Charcoal box is done. It will definitely out last the smoker. Probably about $30 worth of material with time and effort welding it together. Added 2 handles with hooks to pull out the box when needed. Haven't built the tuning plate yet. This weekend plan on getting the sealing done with a combination of high temp silicone and smoker gasket on the firebox, lids and stack. Going to add another temp gauge and 2 door clamps as well.
Youtube was a great resource. Total cost at the end will be right around $300-325. Will take pics when all done. Let see if this $300 smoker will be a $300 performer, or a $1000 performer with the mods. [Reply]
