This is a massive hole that is filled for the #chiefs. Trent McDuffie is considered by almost everyone as the 3rd best CB in this draft. The first two went off the board at 3 and 4.
The @Chiefs make a big move for a top CB (and my model's #8 overall prospect) in Trent McDuffie, who allowed 3.1 yards/target in 2021 at Washington (best in FBS, min. 30 targets).
Could be a key piece to counter the wealth of receiving talent in the AFC come playoff time!
Simple inertia says you had Watson playing really good ball for most of the season and so he has that CB3 job in pretty good order; don't fix what ain't broken.
But they recognized that Williams moved past him and you could see it in their pre-season rotations and practice reports.
Good on Veach for bringing in the talent - no question. Good on the coaches for recognizing it and making some of the kinds of moves on their depth charts that lesser staffs don't. [Reply]

Watson's snaps have increased each game and Williams' have dropped. Don't disagree that coaching has been massive. The fact pretty much ANY DB we pick up is bare minimum rotational quality I think is testament to that as much as good drafting. [Reply]
