This next weekend is going to be extremely busy if you make use of fightpass.
Thursday
7pm TV - (5pm Facebook/7pm NBC Sports) - PFL 2018 #4: Regular Season
We're starting Thursday with PFL and the mad scramble for $1 million at the end of the year. Their regular season continues with fighters trying to qualify for their playoffs. This particular card looks decent, pretty good for a B-level promotion.
Friday
6:30pm - (Fightpass) - Glory 55
Kickboxing. I don't usually watch it, but its on Fightpass.
Saturday
3pm - (Fightpass) - Cage Warriors 95
This card looks about average for a local promotion, with a WW title fight. This is the top feeder league in Europe for the UFC.
7pm - (Fightpass) - Invicta FC 30
Live from Kansas City, this card has an Atomweight title fight. It is very difficult to compare Invicta to other promotions, but you should know what your in for if you want to watch it. This is the top women's-only feeder league for the UFC. This card looks..... I'd say below average, they usually do better.
Sunday
11am TV - (9:30 am Fightpass/11am FS1) - UFC Fight Night, Shogun vs. Smith
Its on at a weird time because its in Germany. The main card starting at 1pm is OK, its not terrific, but I've seen worse. There is no need to watch the prelims, there's maybe 2 guys I care about at all, the rest are guys that were signed just to fill out the card and will be promptly cut if they don't do something awesome.
Tuesday
7pm - (Fightpass) - Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series [Reply]
We have some pretty good fights this weekend on FOX.
Saturday
1:30pm - (Fightpass) - Olympus
This is an event using a pretty new ruleset called Karate Combat. I took a look at it and its very similar to MMA with 2 very big exceptions. First, you can't clinch. If you do clinch, you are expected to immediately attempt a throw, and if its not successful, you let go. Second, they don't really have a ground or submission game. You can do a takedown (or if you knock someone down with strikes), and then they give you about 5 seconds to try to finish the fight, after which you have to stand up.
Eh, whatever, I probably won't watch it.
5pm TV - (3pm Fightpass/5pm FOX) - UFC Fight Night, Alvarez vs. Poirier 2
The prelims are OK (the early fightpass prelims are arguably better than the FOX prelims), but the main card is fantastic for free TV.
Tuesday
7pm - (Fightpass) - Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series [Reply]
Poirer/Alvarez 1 was a really good fight until the illegal knee. It should be a good rematch. I think the Diamond beats The Underground King by TKO in round 4. [Reply]
