i have given up on asking for an american cut brisket, but this butcher seems to at least give me more beef than the flat. im calling it the hope solo brisket. now, i don't wanna denigrate the beef cut too much, but you get the visual.
that said, it was a fantastic solo cooked brisket with cherry and hickory woods. was about a ten hour cook in total. (six lbs or so was the raw weight)

I did finish it off later with a homemade cherry cobbler for Memorial Day.
It was hot as hell and humid outside where we ate earlier, so we ate this inside, otherwise the ice cream would have never lasted.
It's crust is a cornmeal one, which was surprisingly good for a change-up from standard fare.

I haven't BBQ'd much, no. I am from the North East. It wasn't that big out there, at least when I lived there. At least that kind. I don't recall ever seeing a brisket BBQ'd. Seafood is was bigger. But my family did beef kebabs, bracciole kebabs, swordfish kebabs, swordfish, chicken, sausage, hot dogs and hamburgers on a BBQ grill. [Reply]
My GF has lived at the same house for 6 years. She has a cherry tree. No one has picked them as long as she's been there. I picked a shit ton, pitted them and she made delicious cherry pie. 2 so far. I shall be going back up the ladder! [Reply]

We had a plum tree like that. Our lawn guy and his teenage helper would sometimes come and pick their fill. We finally cut the ****er down.
I'd eat the shit out of some cherries, though. [Reply]

Buy a cherry pitter. I buy cherries because I have a pitter. I eat the cherries while I pit too.
Note: I was considering making a pie, but making dough is more time consuming. [Reply]
