Nzoner's Game Room>*****The Kingsley Suamataia Thread*****
Dante84 07:20 PM 04-26-2024
More to come!

Man!!!! I love Andy Reid. The @Chiefs and Andy Reid are offensive line savants. Kingsley Suamataia has big time potential. I think he he can be awesome guard or tackle. Just needs a little technique work. He is an aggressive killer who is great athlete.

Kingsley Suamataia is a versatile offensive tackle who split his 1,300 career snaps at BYU almost exactly down the middle between left and right tackle.

My favorite line from Dane Brugler's draft guide: "He delivers more pancakes than Denny's"

Kingsley Suamataia since 2022:

701 pass-blocking snaps
24 QB pressures allowed
2 sacks allowed

.@Chiefs @BYUfootball #KingsleySuamataia lots to like; lots to work with. #GoCougs have been turning out OLineman over past 4 years. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/4yDc6HYI6i

Kingsley Sumataia | OT | BYU

Traitsy OT w/ great size+athleticism+strengt. Easy range in the run game to pull or climb to landmarks or hit set points in slide. Patient hand usage to stay square and trust his lateral agility. Pad level & overall technique should develop in NFL. pic.twitter.com/p9zOJEuMkr

The @Chiefs just selected Kingsley Suamataia, who is 6'5" and 326 lbs and can do this ⬇️

So....this guy a fuggin bust or is Reid gonna keep trotting out Morris so Pat can be crucified?

Hey, gotta find some things to bitch at when you're 8-0. :-)

I thought he'd hit the ground running, that sure wasn't the case.

Why? He's got damn near prototypical measurables for an elite LT and was available at 64. There were reasons for that. Dude is greener than a pepper tree and needs development time.

Now, why they started then benched him after a poor showing on an island against a top EDGE I don't get.

My theory is that the Chiefs didn't have a game-breaking Edge rusher who could show his flaws in training camp, then he runs into Trey Hendrickson and the top got blown off with his old bad habits.

He would do just fine, like Morris is, against mid competition.

Or a fluke foot injury, or a fluke take your pick injury

You've got Rice and Worthy as your 1,2 going forward. Add around the margins, keep drafting whatever, but I'd prefer to add guys that aren't always dinged up.

I'd guess it was more "he got beat fast vs Morris gets beat slow"

Look at the game where Wanya was out a series and we all thought he tore his ACL. Kingsley still struggled badly.

Kid needs time to fix his technique. This isn’t the Eric Fisher early years with Alex Smith. We’re going for a threepeat.

Wanya is clearly the better option right now. Just means Kingsley has a ways to go

That's bullshit, though. Wanya has gotten absolutely demolished at the snap and barely even inconvenienced his responsibility a number of times now.

Rice is going to miss just six games next year if we are lucky. I know we will have him what it counts, but we need a good replacement for those games too.

Look at this shit at the 2 minute mark. Wanya commits illegal use of hands and STILL barely even slows down Wilson and renders the play DOA.

Where is this all coming from? Why would he miss that much time?

It has been reported that Rice's injury may be an 11- to 12-monther. Plus he's facing a suspension as well.
